my best is a 2:05.99

1:42 at pacific raceways

times with Harry's laptimer with no gps dongle, iirc their website says its accurate to .2 second like that

It should be. I used the free version with a transponder at Buttonwillow Raceway. It was closer than .2, if I remember right.

oh I see what you mean. I think what they mean my .2 the phone only samples gps data at a certain rate, so the times it gives are +/- .2, or they can be right on...

I think I'll be buying a dongle for next year because I get glitches with it fairly often. sometimes it'll just freeze my location on track, other times it'll pause and then catch up...

look at my position on track at 2:12
look at my speed in this vid at 0:38

I load my gps data into race logic's free analsys software, so its nice to actually have the data

i didn't know about a dongle. i'll have to look that up. sounds like a good feature to have.

I have used Harrys with and without external GPS and the sample rate is night and day difference. The MPH differences once you get to triple digits go way off with the internal GPS.

Internal iPhone 5 GPS on left, External 10Hz GPS on right:



I use a SkyPro XGPS160. It's nice and tiny and able to be placed pretty much anywhere.
