The SRT-4 because that 10 year old twin turbo rotary will break down before the race.

The only ways I can see an SRT-4 winning a contest against the RX-7:

1) Drag race (as hueman's numbers show, it's a very close run between the two, and I'm sure the 2004's LSD will give it a little more help, according to Motor Trend's 13.99 of the '04)

2) "Stupid Modding" (i.e. intake/exhaust, boost controler with no fuel modding = death to a 13B)

My friend is looking into getting an SRT 4

I know that I have seen a bunch of you talking about the SRT 4, well my friend is looking into possibly getting one. He loved my evo but doesn't have the cash flow for it right now, just got engaged. Anyway, let me know what you think about the car. Thanks in advance.

Wrong wheel drive.

But the car has good power, good potential and a good price. Not a car I would ever use for the track.. well, maybe driving up to a track to spectate.

if you do a search you'll find about 20 threads about SRT's.......for the most part people on this forum are positive....they give it props for what it is at it's price range. I have one and it's a really fun little car. I was in the same boat as your friend....I shopped an EVO reallly hard but when it came down I didn't quite wanna drop that much green at this point.

If I didn't have money for the Evo I'd go with either a regular WReX or SRT-4

Wrx is a nice car but there is alot that needs to be done to enjoy it all around. (ie track, street driving).

I give my nod to SRT-4 over the wrx. Sorry kind off pissed off at Subaru for the last year.

tell your friend to look into used Evo's..u can find one around $24,000 with not too many miles on it.

i drove the SRT4 and i thought it was a fun car to drive. the one thing i really hate is how it's FWD..takes some of the fun away..but if u are looking for a car that's fast in a straight line for cheap, this car is it.

if i were to get any other car, it would be the WRX.

good point...also a WRX...the bad thing about the SRT4 us the FWD i really could wish the muscleheads at Dodge could go figure that there is a different drivetrain than FWD & RWD...

Yup - wrong wheel drive.

I too would go for something used.
