ralliarts not good looking??? and the O.Z. is? whatever you are smoking please pass my way. the only reason i see that O.Z. guys and gals like the way they look is because they change the way they look, i.e. body kits front ends... because if you left the front end of a stock oz i would hang myself...big *** chrome grill looks hilarious. all the o.z. folks saying the RA is fugly... they are just adjusting to the fact that they spent so much money on a car that was way worse looking and way under powered from the factory than a RA is...get a grip. and i had a gti and i was going to get a r32 and there wasnt enough substance in the r32 to warrant me to stick with it when i looked at the evo. that and the fact that it would have been like 4 grand more, and then to figure upgrades to the car are way more expensive, cause the engine is newer and ohh yeah its german...parts for german cars hellabucks... I got my evo and its way cheaper to boost performance and there are more options all the way around. and about the looks of the r32...if i wanted that look, i would have stayed with the gti and got a body kit that was different than the one i had...rokk a evo you wont be dissapointed.

oh yeah i would also get the evo over the r32, "and i did" but he doesnt want a turbo.
I think a r32 is a great car and you get what you pay for, german cars are great imo.
that comment "its just a golf"? c'mon man we have 's here. germans, toyotas and hondas will always be on top of the list for best cars. I know the evo is an awesome car but to others is "just a mitsubishi" or just a lancer.

dont get me wrong everyone.. i LOVE the evo! i just dont want one.. i myself see evo's allll the time.. they are starting to show up more then civics!! (no offence to civic owners) everywhere i look i see evo evo evo, not that its a bad thing, but i want a car that not everyone else has, ya know? And another reason behind my doing this is that no matter how much i love modding cars, and working on them, i just cant keep spending my money on it.. and if i were to get an evo, all i would think about is what can i do to it next? with the R32 i can concentrate on saving some of my money and not have to be worried about how i can improve my car, cuz it will be all the car i ever need at the moment. and as for VW's service?!?! AMAZING! VW and Audi warrenty is SICK! they pay for everything! if ANYTHING happens to the car, BAMB! they fix it! plus its German, so its quality. just be happy this thread doesn't say "trading in for SRT4?" then you would have every right to b1tch at me

To mitsumichael7 -

I'm not sure how you can call a Passat luxury, and a Golf not??? I mean, have you ever sat in both??? The newer Passat, Jetta, and Golf all have the same basic interior, just different sizes. Not sure how size relates to luxury, but must be huge to you. You can get the Golf in a 4dr, and it has plenty of room in the back. And you can get it with leather, and you can get a Passat with cloth. So, you could have a Golf with way more stuff than a Passat. So, just saying that a Passat is more luxurious could be a very false statement.

And then you talk about a BMW 323 being a better car for the money. My girlfriend had one of those a couple years ago. And that car is far from what I would call fun or luxurious. Sure, it has leather and 4-doors, but thats about it. Normal sound, no nav, no HID, the weakest 6-cyl with 175hp, BORING!!!!. It was nice looking, besides the boring 16" wheels, but that was it. On the inside, it was plain old base-BMW. And it was like $31k. Not what I would be spending for a car of that level of features. And, it was slow as dirt.

I just don't get when people talk about things like this. Its fine to just say "I don't like the Golf look" But, when you start talking like an R32 is just a boring Golf, you just don't get it. You can have nice versions of every car you mentioned. And, you can have crappy versions as well, as I just mentioned. But, just saying that a Golf isn't as luxurious as a Passat, or that a BMW 323 is just as nice, those statements are just silly and uninformed.

I am sorry bro, but it doesnt matter how you defend the Golf R32 by calling a BMW boring. I personally didnt, and wouldnt buy either. My choice as I stated before would be a G35 coupe. the BMW carries with it something in status that the Golf just cant carry. It is a HATCHBACK! that is $31K and that is the basic point! And yes I have driven the Passat as my neighbor has one and it is slow an boring, but no one looks at that car and not think "luxury car". The fact of the matter remains that there is NO WAY for $30K plus a Golf hatchback is in my driveway. Not with all the choices on the road today. That has been my point THE WHOLE TIME!

You need to do a lot, I mean, *A LOT* of reading on www.vwvortex.com
Dude, you're clueless.
As for Evos... I'm not sure where you live but there really aren't as many out there.

I don't get it. Thats all. I'm not defending any of the cars in this post. With $30k to spend, there are soooo many choices, its hard to pick a winner. But, you seem to think that just because a car has 4 doors, its automatically more luxurious than some hatchback. And, like I said in my earlier post, you can have get a Passat with no options, cloth interior, steelies, and a crap stereo. But to you, "You cant look at the car and not think Luxury" Luxury to me isn't a car itself, its the things that make the car comfortable and easy to live with. An Evo, on the other hand, is not a luxurious car. Stiff suspension, manual climate control, no nav option, seats are grippy not plush and comfy. Those are the things that make that car fun to drive and a great performer, but far from luxurious. I mean, my neighbor has a Hyundai Sonata with leather, sunroof, and a CD player. Surely, with those options and 4-doors, you have to consider that a luxury car too, RIGHT??? I just don't get it.

R32 sucks.

It's a nice 4 motion GTI, but it's not worth 30k.

funny thread. i guess to some people its all about status. that's cool, too each his own. Driven all three, and a golf R32 is no LESS luxurious than a G35 or BMW 325.... and more fun and better performace than the BMW and AWD (which G35c does not have). And, some people think hatchbacks are sick. Love my Evo, but secretly wish it could be a hatchback... always been a fan of hatchbacks instead of coupes or sedans. R32 is a sweet ride... kicks *** over a lancer any day. go for it dude and enjoy it!! You'll get a wave and a thumbs up from this evo driver any day.
