Ford to sell the Ford Focus RS you actually wanted

A Quaife Limited Slip front differential is the key news.

But can you buy it this time?

In all honesty Quaife is not a real improvement over OEM Torsen type widely used in Evo and other cars. Wavetrac is significantly better, and plated front diffs are yet another step toward "pulling to the apex" under throttle effect.

Coupled to the fact rear diff is ultimately the gating-item, this is negligible step in good direction.

What sets a wavetrac apart from other torsen diffs? I thought it was basically the same thing?

Spring-loaded so the gear diff works in one wheel-lifted situations.

Sure, but since the RS seems to be FWD more than people like this is a useful item.

GKN is not likely to allow that to be changed for it's a self-preservation decision.

they could have put a cooler on it so it can take more than a beginner level track session without overheating...

Mishi moto has come out with a pretty good cooling solution for the RDU and PTU that seems to have some really good R&D behind it.

Would have preferred to see an RS500 with flared fenders and an upgraded rdu. But hey red paint is nearly as good

Limited slip in the front axle - good idea - since that's what's doing all the work.
