At least we still get new Supra, new NSX, new GTR, new STi, and I heard next gen of s2k is also coming out.

People wont cross shop a Toyota with a Kia? If you wanted a coupe though then yah you probably wouldn't be looking at the kia.

It needs more to justify the price IMO. Base model in the 60's with 335hp. BTFO...LOL

In the realm of used 911 turbos that do 10s in the 1/4 stock then pull 1.2g, yeah that's a disappointment. Toyota has no performance name right now.

 

I would expect the dealers to do what dealers always do and mark the Supra up considerably. So that's probably going to factor in too. Not to get hung up on Kia's the baseline corvette sticker is 55.5K (Probably not gonna be marked up either). A Shelby GT350 is 57.2k (Probably going to be marked up though).

 

You can pay sticker for GT350's now.

 

Sounds like this is more Z4 than Supra.

You guys have implied some good points here. A launch of the new Supra instantly puts her in pond full of sharks like the Mustang GT350 / GT350R. Without offering big power for the buck, the new Supra may have a hard time.
