My dad just picked up a 09 Z06. Fun little car. Not sure if I would ever own one though. I get to drive enough of them that my need to own one is low. Need to line it up next to the Supra one of these days haha

Yea the z06 is an awesome car. The two reasons i got the grand sport over the z06 is to not worry about valve issues on the ls7 and to have a targa top. I wanted to at least do heads/cam on any i got, but found mine already with a supercharger. I know these days you need 1k whp to even be competitive, but mine will not see much racing and i have no plans to go to any road course. 700whp is more than i will ever use and is considered all-day reliable. The supra can throw down for sure, i wouldn't be surprised if you took down the z06

 

The valve issue is real! A customer brought in this Vette because the valve got stuck down, piston hit it and ended up cracking the block. We rebuilt the engine and the customer said if anyone wants to buy the car, make an offer. My dad basically stole the thing. I have an Edelbrock blower laying around that I am trying to get him to buy! These things really scoot with some boost behind them.

I did a back to back test drive comparison between his Vette and my Supra and I honestly think the Supra is faster. He should make more rwhp but the tq the Supra makes is unreal. Anyways, enjoy that thing, they are a blast with some power. If you ever need some parts for it, hit me up as the LS engines are what I do for a living.

Sweet, thanks I may hit you up later. At the least Id like to get the tune checked up soon just to see where its at. Maybe later on Id like to get a nice choppy cam, but mainly for the sounds.

The Grand Sport is such a beast, especially with the manual. I've had mine for about a year now, and it still brings a smile to my face every time I drive it. Took it to a half-mile event once and the adrenaline rush was insane! Just make sure you keep up with the maintenance and it should treat you well.

 

But it will get to 100mph before an EVO gets to 40mph

Only kids talk about straight line speed. Its the easiest thing to achieve and can be done with almost any car these days. Not what makes a car special.
