Had the chance to run a plaid from a roll a few months back. Those cars are impressive!
Electric is the future but I'm staying analog for now.

Why do you say its unfortunate? No trolling. I ask because TRC has beat on that evo for many years without rebuilding the motor. I was also wondering if over 150k was paid for the evo by the new owner, because thats what the plaid costs. I think the plaid is awesome. But so is that evo, and many other cars that would get walked by the plaid. Theres now the sapphire which is faster, albeit more expensive, than the plaid. I guess what im trying to say is different cars are cool for different reasons. And besides that, everyone wants to beat the "top dog" plaid. I see it as a "built vs. EV bought" battle, but both are awesome in their own way.
The plaid set the bar for straight line performance when it came out. It would beat me from a dig no doubt. Its also a luxury sedan you can drive anywhere you can charge. Or auto drive.
FWIW, this engine has a set of steel Carrillo's from 2007. Its been raced more times then anyone thought was possible . Low compression ,tuning and maintenance play a big role. I feel comfortable recommending Carillo's for these engines until 1100hp+.

All those who think electric is the future, its absolutely NOT. Enough information is already coming out to disprove electric car as a future option. Not anti-advancement or anything or some old fart that doesn't accept new tech either. Electric is simply inferior to combustion engines in more ways than not. Worse for the environment (already proven do some quick google searching). Mining lithium is going to become harder than mining gold in such amounts. Also charging stations in enough places around the world is way to unrealistic in any widespread capacity and given the "energy crises" we already have a hard enough time powering cities never mind millions of cars. Its just not going to happen no matter how much money is injected into making the world electric.

I'd love to see the data that shows how lithium mining is some how going to be worse for the environment than the exploration/extraction/transportation/refining/distributing/burning of fossil fuels. Fossil fuels being a one time use product (that will run out some day) vs. an almost limitlessly recyclable lithium. At every link in that fossil fuel chain there have been and will continue to be environmental disasters. Batteries can be made from all kinds of different materials, to think that EV's are going to live or die by some specific chemistry is wrong. The science is electric motors are way more efficient than internal combustions engines. It's more efficient to burn fossil fuels at a power plant and then supply the electricity to EV's than it is to run an ICE in the vehicle.

I agree with everything your saying and your totally right, but I will say none of this will happen in any of our life times so give us our e85 and let me be happy for just once in my lifetime
My whole strategy for dealing with the inevitable social stigma that will come with operating an I.C.E. vehicle is to deflect with the fact that I've been running it on renewable biofuels since 2010.
