Question ok hey yall

ok my freind has a 1999 handyia ..... ok stop laughting
the car is realy fuc i think when the gas is pushed the rpms go way down then when the petal is push down again it goes up really high alnost redlineing it then it goes. what do you all think? i know that the tranny is good it shifts fine so help me out a little here

From what I can tell, it sounds like the clutch is trash. When you give it gas the RPM's increase with little to no acceleration? If yes, get new clutch. That's what happened in my car, the clutch was completely fried.

If its a manual its the clutch
If its a automatic its the torque converter

You should really post on the hyundai forums, I'm sure they would be more help than Evo owners.

I wouldnt say that... I used to go one there alot ( still do) for my 1st car w/ Qs & such. i still love hyundais because I used to own one. When I was car shopping earlier this year my 1st choice was an 03 tiburon, but insurance & monthly was too much for me (working part-time,full time college student). & the lancer i found was a good deal & cheap monthly (227/month). Hopefully when I graduate Ill still get a tib, & build up my lancer or get an evo.
There are a couple of hyundais that are fast though, so dont underestimate the crooked H (as its known on hp.com). this pic will explain it all. 1.5L dohc fwd auto accent vs evo:
