Picked up the S4 on Monday...
just wanted to update on the status of the S4... i added the Miltek exhaust, and she has a nice sound now, that should have come from the factory...
also did a Hyperflow intake system, nothing to write home about on this piece... i've seen dynos with a 10whp increase, but you'd never know it...

Glad to hear everything is going good with the car. This may be my next purchase. have been reasearching a little about the car. My wife has an A4 1.8t that I like very much. So what are your long term thoughts on the car? Satisfied with power? How did the car fair with your upgrades? I wish the car had a little more power to counteract some of the heft.
Anyway, glad all is well.

i know it is not supposed to be a buttery smooth ride, but it seems pretty jarring to me... it feels solid, but just makes noises you should not expect in a $50K+ car...
with the Miltek full exhaust with DP's you will gain about 30-40whp... but the cost of the system is hefty... about $3000...
like i said, i have no complaint with the performance or looks of the car, it's the noises it makes that drive me nuts...

I briefly considered an Audi before buying the Evo, but the only Audi in a similar price range was the totally guttless A4 1.8 turbo. It was nicely appointed but not nearly fast enough. The S4 is a different matter, and in an entirely different price range so the comparison seems a bit odd. Personally, I would have purchased the 6 speed.

oh and it's a gas hog, but i figured that going into it...
i don't really drive it hard at all, basically just commuting to work, and i've aveeraged about 15mpg over 3000 miles...

The rattles in my b5 S4 drove me nuts - now the girlfriend just bought a b6 Imola S4 and I hear things already! The start-up whiney sounds when cold are nasty
I agree with Diesel, too many rattles and squeaks for the $$$$.
I guess you went through Stratmosphere for those goodies? I wouldn't have touched that hyperflow thang. Trying to get the girlfriend to bite on the Miltek exhaust
