Example:
Somone says, "My Toyota Corolla can beat a Ferarri Enzo, cause I am mad skilled at driving."
Typical reply, "Uhm.. are you aware that the Enzo can do 0-60 in 3 seconds and your Corolla does it in 11sec, according the Motor Trend?"

This thread is getting rediculous, because it's becoming about status and prestige, not about cars. too bad, because cars cannot confer upon you either real status or prestige, so we should all just enjoy what we have at whatever level we need to and get on with it. Diesel obviously, hopefully, finally has a car that satisfies all his needs, and he is happy and proud about that. Simple. Has no bearing on what any of the rest of us do with our cars. Admittedly, it's a little irritating when people make great efforts to put the amazing piece of go-fast engineering that is the Evo down by always pulling out the lack of luxury card...but feel good that this is one of the ONLY valid criticisms of the car. I have owned luxury BMW's and Audi's and they are great cars. The difference is that they are basically carving knives, and the Evo is a pairing knife....different uses. the Evo is a surgcal speed instrument, and will always be respected by enthusiasts. Will it confer prestige upon you? No. Will it help you impress females? No. Will it rattle and shake? Yes. Will it cause you to bust out in a wide open grin everytime you attack a series of turns on you favorite twisty road? Yes. With very few and inexpensive modifications will it hold it's own at the track against cars costing double to three times as much? Yes. Take your joy from all of the yes replies above...Peace all.

Diesel, you had a nice car before and a nice car now. I used to be more after the luxury aspect of things so I think I'd enjoy the S4, or the M3 even moreso but in the end its not worth the financial stretch to me. The S4 is without a doubt an extremely well performing car for a stock car as is the EVO, "fast" ofcourse is a very relative term. The EVO has that "it" factor to me, it just feels special. I can see Diesel's points about the interior, build quality, etc but honestly the car is built where it counts and for 10-15k less it IS a superior all around performance car in every aspect thats indisputable. Enjoy your new car.
Wow, I'm amazed at how this thread started off with Diesel posting pics of his new ride on page 1 but now on page 5, he is having to defend his choice of switching vehicles. This isnt right. I for one have driven both cars religeously and there is absolutely no way to justify a comparison between a great car (the evo) and a downright brilliant car ( the 04 S4). This is foolishness. Yeah sure there is a difference between a dodge viper venom and a audi rs6 but to directly compare two totally different vehicles with two totally different purposes is foolish. I have chosen the evolution over the 04 S4 ONLY because I will be looking for a new house shortly. Diesel has gone from a proven performer to another proven performer but with luxury. He took a small hit on downright un-restrained performance but he can now enjoy a better car. Eventually, I will sell the evo for an S4. Diesel doesnt look back, and niether will I.
