mitsupwrd06. watch out for this guy...

sigh... such a waste of my life that i even have to be posting this. anyway. i bought a used quarter master v drive twin disc. and according to the seller, "has 3-4 hours on the new discs" that he purchased, but went to an 8 leg for whatever reason. i texted him point blank if there was anything abnormal or wrong with the clutch at all and asked him to send better pictures of just the discs. discs looked meaty and he assured me the clutch was in perfect working order. so i pulled the trigger. shipped the clutch on 8/24/12 and i received it on 8/28/12. upon immediate inspection i noticed 2 of the pressure plate bolts were missing as well as all throw out bearing bolts. and then the fun part. the splines on both discs were completely stripped out. i was in disbelief as first that someone would try to get away with something so obvious so i drove to my shop where my tranny was already out and put the discs on the input shaft. sure enough they are 100% useless. i texted him immediately after that and told him he was going to make it right or i would file a dispute through paypal. that night he told me he would have 2 new discs shipped to me the next day.
the next day i texted him and he said they would have to be shipped to him and then he'd ship to me. fair enough. the day after that i text him to see if he received him and he said, "USPS hasn't delivered my mail today, I will keep you updated." so i ask him to send me a pic of the invoice so i know the discs are actually coming. he then got defensive and wanted me to email him pics of the clutch discs. i directed him to evom where i already made a thread with trying to figure out if the splines were actually stripped. after that i told him to show me proof or quit wasting my time. the next day on 8/31/12 i told him to send me proof by 5:30 or i was filing a dispute. no proof so here we are. i'll include a pic of what a QM disc should look like, and one i received.

eventually the situation did resolve itself. after i made the paypal dispute, he did not respond within the 10 day period so i got my money back by default.

Unfortunately, I'm guessing Paypal will side with him because he actually sent you something. He also sent the item that you thought you were purchasing. I'm not sure if they will care about the condition of the item in question, just that you received it. Good luck on getting him to replace the worn parts.

You should be able to get a refund through paypal, however the mediator will most likely require you to ship it back to him. its all about how you can prove the terms of the purchase in your behalf of the dispute.

I didn't know that there's 32 days in August? Just messing with you man. Hope he makes it right and ships you the new discs AND bolts. But you're right, if he can't show proof they are ordered, i'd open up the dispute asap cause he is just giving you the run around. Good luck.
