I suppose its plausible but is it likely? I don't think so. But I suppose Im biased cause most of my friends are not car enthusiasts and the ones that are still wouldnt know evo specific parts + what to price them at as someone mentioned. For example even though I own an evo and a 300zx so I consider myself a car "enthusiast" doesn't mean I can go on a Supra forum and easily fool those guys without doing plenty of research. Now that I think about it, it would be so much easier to just scam people in the wanting-to-buy section...

But anyway, maybe his old roommate did own an evo or sti and the OP for some reason didnt mention that (yeah right). OP doesnt tell us that but gives us other irrelevant details about how he still has an ebay account and used to pay the bills in college with his debit card (yeaahh thats great, so did I...doesnt mean my roommates knew my card info or had access to use my card )...liars usually try to over explain things. Then you got all the rest of the circumstances about how his friend supposedly got all his account info and stole his debit card even though he said they dont live together since college ended. Yeah you decide how likely this whole scenario is...

 

I know someone has to have his info. Lets get the cops involved

Why don't u call man?^^^^ U got scammed too, right? U can tell them your story and see where it goes at least. What's happened is wrong and if I had been scammed I would call if he didn't live close. Call and give it a try. What will it hurt? Worst thing they can say is "don't bother us, with nonsense, or say u need proof". A felony is a felony. They might help you find what to do next if nothing else.

Paypal must REVIEW the cases before giving charge backs or refunds. It takes a while, and everyone who has opened a dispute has received their money back thus far EXCEPT those who haven't waited long enough for paypal to review the particular case. Let them do their job, and everyone will get their funds back shortly. Some cases arent being reviewed until as late as sept 23rd according to what paypal is showing me ... and thats just the review, after the review the process in quick. Give it time people, again, I am not running off with anyones money for the 100th time. And yes, my ex "roommate" is a car enthusiast just like every single one of us are.

 

If your story is true... Not for me to decide. U don't want my opinion... Anyway, why won't u open up lines of communication with the people who had money scammed from you/your roommate. If its a misunderstanding, then treat this as such and keep in touch with these people.

 

The fact that a bunch of people have already received their money back & he is still posting on the site addressing the issue is a good sign... though I can readily say I would also want a direct contact number in a situation such as this assuming those affected don't already have one..

 

I understand the situation, but some people are being unreasonable. Getting threatening e-mails saying you are going to come find me and beat with me with a bat make me want to go grab my HK and sit and wait for you to come find me over $100 that I didn't even take from you. I HAVE been in communication with mods and others, but I had an unfortunate death in the family and have been traveling so it hasn't been easy to stay in touch. I told everyone the same thing, the money is being returned - just give a little while for paypal to do their thing, but people want it done yesterday, not when paypal gets around to handling the situation which is unfortunate. 2-3 weeks may sound like a long time, but if everyone claimed a dispute over not receiving a part in 2-4 business days paypal would have lose their f'n minds over that nonsense (stuff gets lost in mail, people send things out late, life happens, etc) just have a little patience..... over 17 people have received returned funds, and off the top of my head only 5 are remaining. Doesn't seem too horrible in my eyes considering I am going to have to foot this bill before I get this settled in court which could take God knows how long and $ for a lawyer as to which I already have in the works. This whole situation just sucks. I did not come on Evom after 10 years and decide to screw people.

 

Your roomate got me too. I'm from M3Forum.net and haven't heard a response in weeks. Any chance I could get a refund as well? Check the M3 site for details...
