Us DCEvo guys just met him yesterday, nice guy with a nice car. Unfortuntely, he took turn 10 a little too hot, dipped 2 wheels off into the gravel, then shot back across into the wall. The car is definitely totalled which is too bad, it only had 1500 miles on it. Hopefully his insurance will pick up the tab (and then immediately drop him of course) and at least pay off most his loan.

I gave him a ride home and he was starting to hurt a bit worse. He was planning on driving himself over to the emergency room to get checked out. His instructor took the brunt of the impact and was taken to the hospital from the track. Someone said he had some preexisting neck problems and that was what was bothering him.

On a positive note, everyone else I talked to had an excellent time. This was my second event and I was having far more fun out there this time! Big thanks to Dan for helping put this on with NASA!

I hope he was ok, i never saw the car, but the number of tires moved by the hit was bad.........turn 10 in summit is always bad for that....i've seen a few cars get destroyed there.

hope he is ok, really sorry to hear the car is totalled, hopefully his ins. will cover it..

hope that instructor is ok as well......never feel good when you see someone leave the track in an ambulance

hey SER - which one were you? there was a white SER and a primered SER... i can't remember any other colors? black maybe?

I missed seeing the Evo carnage, but heard it was pretty bad. last event an H3 Honda got totalled there in qualifying or practice.

a H3 prelude flipped on Sunday and is now totaled also.....plus an HPDE M3 went sideways into something and f'up his entire passenger side.

If it was a silver M3 in HPDE1 with tape on the headlights I think I saw that one happen... it was coming out of 9, and all of the sudden it was perpendicular to the track going left.

It used to be rare that someone would f' up a car that badly in a weekend...now it happens 2-3 times per weekend....

The level of performance available from some showroom stock vehicles that are available today often far outweigh the skill set of the majority of drivers. When you unleash that combination on a track at an event that has been billed as a chance to drive *****-to-the-wall flat out, bad stuff will happen. Frankly I feel that the HPDE format and organizational structure is currently ill equipped to deal with the huge disparity that occurs in skill sets and vehicle performance.

I feel sad and sorry for the drivers that total their cars at such an event. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
