Exclamation White Rabbit Evo Turbo Upgrade Pics

Just finished intalling the white-rabbit upgrade; dyno tuning results pending. End goal is 400 wheel horse power, tuning via Vishnu Xede ECU piggyback with 680 Greddy Injectors.

pretty reasonable goal. When I installed mine I finnaly got tired at 372whp, and the car was running rich 10.5-10.8 area. She still had a lot left in it, but sadly the dyno shop closed down a few weeks ago so AMS is the next nearest one to me. Forgot to add I dynoed on a MD.

It's sad the goals for this turbo are 400WHP when you can easily hit 400WHP on the stock turbo.

Not really, because the WR is a stock-like turbo. It isn't designed to make a lot more peak whp, but rather more SUSTAINED whp for a longer amount of time with a flatter hp/tq curve. Additionally, 400whp is not _easy_ on the stock turbo. It requires meth and serious tuning at a minimum, but is difficult to achieve without race gas and a serious tune. You usually see 05s with meth and cams dyno'ing 370-380.

Hey guys, what sort of fuel will you be using to hit 400whp? Race gas or an alky kit? Also, whose dyno will you use?

The car will be going to TurboTrix since Mark @ TT is very familiar with Xede (customers choice of tuner). Fuel is pretty simple, Walbro Pump - > 680 Greddy -> Bigger Fuel Rail / I believe the tuning will be strictly on pump gas - no alcohol - no race gas; hence it will be pretty interesting to see what it will do. On a side note, I drove it on the steet a bit untuned, a bit rich, but it still felt pretty good - did not notice any major difference from stock. However, I think you are right, it really shines at holding 20+ psi, I think thats the main difference and the selling point. The tune should be a good test to see what it does.

Oh, I thought it was a shop car.

It won't get near 400 on pump gas I don't believe. It's going to need meth to really make full use of it the WR, since it won't be able to run optimum boost levels on pump gas. The TT dynojet doesn't give inflated readings or anything, so depending on the rest of the mods, I wouldn't expect more than 350. I wonder why the owner has aftermarket injectors and fuel rail, but no meth. An alky kit would cost less than those mods yet give FAR more power gain. To each his own, I suppose...

I understand that the WR is like a stock-like turbo, which is mainly why I wouldn't buy one. I guess I just expect more for my money and that doesn't do much for me. My friend's got 400WHP on his stock turbo, he's got basic bolt-ons, 272's, Meth, and a tune from TopSpeed. I plan on going the same route except with some 280s.

If you just look at peak dyno numbers and don't race then that's fine, but if you road race, then the WR is awesome, because it makes more power for a longer duration of time. It has less of an umbrella shape on the dyno and more of a long, flat curve. We did a dyno day with 11 different Evos, 11 of which had the stock turbo and one on the WR. Everyone was on the same 93oct...no meth or race gas. The WR car had the same mods as several of the cammed Evos except for the WR upgrade. He put down 22whp more (peak) than the next best cammed Evo, but his area under the curve was far more impressive than the difference in peak numbers. Seeing it in person on the same dyno and then comparing the dynographs opened my eyes a lot. He's now installing his alky kit and we'll see what happens.

I don't know which guy is your friend who's making 400whp on the stock turbo with meth and a flash, but I do know that Charles (ct9a) and Evoonyoass are both under 400 (although close). Evoonyoass even has the AEM EMS and 280s, but didn't quite make 400. I also still am quicker than both of them in the 1/4-mile, but their cars are much faster (just a subtle jab, since their track was slick). Some people get 400whp on the stock turbo, but it's really not that easy. If I had 400whp, I'd be running 11.4 at 120 if my 4th gear could actually go that high (it can't).

Bump for dyno numbers or an estimated dyno date in the future.

If you hit a sustained 375 whp on that combo on pump I think you should be happy.
