I was unable to attend my court case today (traffic violation) because I had to come into work for an emergency. I am going to the court first thing tommorow morning to see what I can do (hopefully reschedule?) Does anyone know what is going to happen to me? Am I screwed?!

 

I think when you dont show up to your court date. Basically you end up pleading guilty and you pay the max fine.

^ no man you wont do time . They might make you pay the max. Just bring in documentation and see if they accept it.

 

Talk to a court clerk ASAP and you better have good documentation. Here they put out a bench warrant for you if you miss your court date.

 

Look on the back of your violation. Should have info about consequences. You can reschedule even if you missed your court date (pretty sure there's a reschedule fee - about $70). Bring plenty of documention, wear an **** kissing smile, and expect to have a bulk of your day taken up.

how much over , depends on the judge ruling whether they put out a warrant or not

 

94 in a 65. (29mph over) 5 points. Sigh. Maybe I should just change states so I have no points?

 

countact a lawyer immediately and make sure he will defend you in your next court date, it may cost like $350-500 but it's worth it imho. it will suck more if that goes on your record.. talk about insurance hike!!

 

i got a 85 in a 35, yeh talk about bad, i went the MD district court ended up with 0 points and a large lump fine

 

I'm not that lucky unfortunately...I have the feeling I'm screwed. Sucks because if these 5 points go on my license, then I will have 9 points (license gets suspended if you have 8 9 10 or 11 points). The only reason I even got the speeding ticket is because I was helping out a friend tow his DSM off the street (cops were threatening to tow it) so I was speeding on my way to my friend's house who has a tow truck. God damn mitsu's always get me in trouble
