front license plate in Maryland?
bump...got pulled over today by a rookie cop and he gave me a $40 ticket for no front tags. i know its only $40 but my boss today was telling me if u go to court and tell the judge your bracket fell off, they most likely will let u off. anyone familiar with this?
Anyway I think its a gamble. If my bumper didn't have holes already for the bracket I might not ride around without a front tag.
ok, so i went into my car and looked at the ticket for the first time really. the cop wrote my zip code down wrong. does this mean it gets thrown out?
EDIT: nevermind, just did a search and it doesnt look like i'm getting away with this. if anyone wants to donate some money for a good cause, shoot me a pm for paypal info.

This is just one of the many reasons why I am glad I don't live in MD anymore. Samj601, just pay the ticket. It is not worth fighting. I don't think they will throw the ticket out just for your zip code being in the wrong place.
Evasive Maneuvers
The ticket is linked to your license number no matter what; don't show/pay... warrant issued, license suspended, etc. Don't tempt fate!
Knock on wood...
I'm lucky...I've been driving in VA for three years now with no front plate--it's stuck to the windshield--and I haven't been stopped yet. I give them plenty of reasons to come after me: I excelerate quickly, my exhaust is rather loud (w/external wastegate dumping to atmosphere), no cat, grapefruit launcher TurboXS barrel muffler, etc.
It might be that I have "VET" plates on my car--I'm retired military--but I don't know since nobody's stopped me and told me that they let me off cause I served our country.
Now if I was only so lucky in everything else in life...!

when i first got my RA, i took off the ugly bracket and i just stuck the plate in the winshield until about a month later i was pulled over and got a warning for improper placement of front licsense plate. PG county police must have been bored that day.
bah, ive been running without a front plate for forever, lol... i consider the 40$ a tax to keep my car the way i want and some freedom of expression so to speak, lol
might also be the reason why i have over 15 seat belt tickets! lol
(yay for no points and 25$ fine
