might be doing mine the weekend of the 24th, if not next weekend. I'll let you know what I run into. Also we'll wait and see how it goes for Dennis. I am going to swing by the HS during the week and give him a hand.

^^^
I'm starting this Wednesday at 1 pm, hope to get everything removed by the first day, I have two days to do it (3 day pass)..too bad they don't open on Tues but its all good cause I need to install an alarm too. The worst part is probably droping the tranny and then putting it back on. I hope they have a tranny stand/lift like they did in Guam.......

i do not recommend doin this if u havent done it before, a bad clutch install can result in thousands.

i did it on my old car by myself in my garage on my back, had to take it in and out 5 times because of Clutch masters, it was on a 05 chevy cobalt ss supercharge. they never put the clutch in the car so me and a couple of other people ended up being test dumbies, because they never told anyone that. they had to buy me a new tranny, starter and flywheel

But i never did it on a AWD, but my friend did it on his STI, which i know isn't the same but i consider myself pretty macanilly inclined.

That is very true! Attention to detail is a must on this install.

I agree. Save yourself the trouble and have a reputable shop do an install for you. There is a shop close by me that is offering an Exedy OEM w/ install for $500. Can't beat that deal.

I just did my install couple of days ago, it took me about 13 hours, but the first day I took my time getting everything out, I used a lift and some air tools. It was a pain in the butt trying to remove the tranny all by yourself... since the AHS close at 8:30 pm I decided to call it a day.....on the following day Yellowevilevo showed up along w/ Greg and we got the tranny off in 30 mins...the problem I had the following evening was that I didn't snap off the TB off the wedge collar. Make sure you take a flat head and rotate it so it snaps off and the fork pedal goes back to the original position. Clutch removal went quick along with the FW and TB.....the replacement went quick too with no problems.....we used a tranny jack to lift it back up but we had to tilt it a weird way to get the other end clear the suspension (black cross-member support) but other than getting the output shaft through the clutch assembly and aligning the dowel pins we slap it in there on the second try...everything lined up and in place.

I hardly recommend to remove the passenger half shafts out of the way and remove the drive shaft (center to the TC) off the TC, we didn't remove the TC off of the car but to the side resting on the cross member...it sounds like alot of work but it'll give you more room to maneuver the tranny when you re-install it back on.

Another thing I did was to remove the rear bracket engine mounts..it kept grabbing on to the power steering lines on the removal process..

In conclusion, if you have the money I suggest call ISP since they quote was the best deal of all the speed shops I have queried, but if you have some friends that are mechanically incline has done some type of tranny install before...its a long process but its possible... this is my first AWD clutch install along with Nory n Greg but we were able to manage and got my evo up and running again.

If you guys need the output shaft removal tool, I got one made and it works great...let me know if you guys want to borrow it (after Nory since he's doing his next week).

Another thing good to have is a third arm assembly that sits on top of your car to hold the engine since its going to be hanging on one engine mount. Unless your going to use jacks underneath but we had my car on a lift.

Thanks guys for your help.... I really appreciate it!
