Yes, I am not trying to be a jerk or start an argument about cities. I like both cities. I have never said anything bad about Baltimore, I just didn't appreciate the comments made initially, especially throwing all of the people that live here in the same stereotype.

Next time you are in the city drop me a PM. I will show you around and some of the better sights/attractions. That is a serious statement, not me being a jackass either.

I respect what the Ravens, they had a great year. Look how many times these games have come down to the wire and have been hard fought battles. That is a testament to both great teams and cities. Again, I am sorry for the comments I made before...

For the record, I love the Ravens and am not a fan at all of the Steelers but I in no way condone the nuclear holocaust of Pittsburgh. Sometimes its better to get your anger out on the page and then hit delete until you have calmed down. I did get a good chuckle out of that though knowing that silver goes a bit overboard at times. haha. I would say he was just kidding but.........

Yea.. about that. Still feel that way about Pittsburgh.

I’m actually not talking about the game at all. If i felt like typing a book you would see I’m not mad at the Steelers for winning. I have plenty to say bad about Cam Cameron, Flacco, the o-line, the receiving core, ect ect. The Squeelers won the game because the ravens made mistakes not because the Steelers caused them or made plays. They didn’t win that game at all Baltimore gave it away.

As far as the nukes and the stereotyping it is what it is. It wasn’t meant seriously but for the most part the stereotype is 100% true and the nukes are just my way of saying I probably won’t go back there and I won’t care if I ever see it again. I have never met someone from Pittsburgh or a Steelers fan that I have liked. They are all douche bags. I’m sure there are some good ones out there and this guy above may be one. However, you guys weren’t at the game sitting next to me to hear and see some of the crap that the city of Pissburgh has to offer.

And one last statement...

For someone like me who:

Has been a season ticket holder from DAY ONE
A Baltimore native my whole life
A person who has seen crap in Baltimore sports the first 11 years of my life until the Ravens came to town
Someone who invests my entire year, every year, devoted to the following everything the Ravens do.
Watching the Draft
Going to Training Camp
Going to Radio shows the Ravens appear at
Going to the players charity events
Going to away games (Cleveland, Tennesse, Dallas, Pittsburgh)

And so on and so on

You can see why I love my team more then an average bandwagon or part time fan does. I am more invested then most. So because of all that you bet your *** that I am gunna hate the Steelers as well as the Colts because we cant find a way to beat them either when it matters, but thats another topic..

I certainly don't doubt your passion Dave! I agree with your views on the game and the Ravens in general with their issues. Hopefully they will find the offense we need before our defense becomes an issue. I too have had a-holes at an away game practically ruin it for me (except for the fact that we won that game). I had beer poured on my brand new flacco jersey, the guys shouting in your face, and the nasty c-bomb behind us the entire game *****ing in that Fran Drescher voice about how the refs are in the Ravens pocket and insulting us for no reason. And that was a Miami game. I have heard that Pittsburgh is worse but have never been (not sure I ever will). What I can't stand more then anything around Baltimore is the bandwagoner Steelers fans. People who live in the Baltimore area, have never been to or have any connection with Pittsburgh who just decided to jump on the bandwagon. Thats who I have the biggest problem with. Its like going to a college but rooting for an opposing team. I just don't get it. I don't have a problem (beyond normal rivalry banter) with true Steelers fans who live in or at least used to live in Pittsburgh. If you don't know what the stars stand for then you are not a Steelers fan!!! Oh well, the Ravens are out this year and the Steelers are still in. Go Jets!!

I am a season ticket holder as well, and been to many away, and playoff away games. Including notoriously dangerous places, philly being one example, and i've never, ever had any problems with other teams fans except pittsburgh. Pitt fans basically tried to assault us....AT M&T BANK STADIUM. (well there was this redsox game once.....)

I'll say that they are 98% douche bags, I'm sure there is a few out there somewhere that are respectfull.

Sorry Dave, but this statement is retarded:

At some point you have some understanding, and a kind of pity for pittsburgh. In a tangible way football is like religion in pittsburgh. It is the opium of the people. It gives hope to the hopeless. They need at least one shining light in the miserable existance that is western PA.

That being said nothing would make me happier than the total destruction of that team, embarrasment of the city by the actions of the players/staff, and the ultimate removal of the team due to lack of revenue. Probably never happen, but a guy can dream... (thought I got my wish after the rape, but I guess they don't mind that so much there)

Well said lonnie. You guys probablly dont have a twitter acount but a guy i talk to on there won the contest to go to the super bowl from direct tv, the ultimate displaced fan contest. He's a ravens fan from bmore but had to move to NC, get it.. the displaced fan. Anyway in his video that helped him win he was at ravens games talking to opposing teams fans like miami, buffalo, and then he got to the steelers fan. He straight up asked the steelers fan, how many times have you been to pittsburgh.. "ugh once".. yea exactly you proved our point.

Steelers fan, well most of them, fail on many levels. But hey we cant beat them when it matters so like biscotti said the other day in his press conference the team isnt on their level yet but we are close. At least we have real fans and not bandwagon fans that dont know anything about pittsburgh except their football team is the steelers.

Oh man I am glad I got this thread started again after 2 months of nothing. haha. I knew my boy Silver06evo9mr would chime in. He can never seem to make it to a CBRD meet but always down for busting on the Steelers.

To be serious for a sec, as a guy from west PA and growing up as a Steelers fan, including when they were mediocre at best for many years, this is how I feel....they are just good right now. And with that comes good and bad. The bad is the sh*t talking and all these people jumping on the bandwagon and wearing Steelers stuff in the winter and Yankees stuff in summer and live in FL or something which fuels the sh*t talk. It's lame, like when people loved the Cowboys for 10+ years for no reason. So I can see where non-Steelers fans hate that. But also it reminds me nobody would be like that if they werent good. They are just winners. Ben sucks a lot but when he needs to make a play and a drive happen, he does. Like Bradshaw did. If I didnt grow up outside of Pittsburgh I might not like them either. But I will say I respect the Ravens. Just like Steelers, Packers, any blue collar good defense team. And I think we can all agree we hate pretty boy Brady and the Patriots! haha.

PS: I really hope we win tomorrow and think we will. Thanks to the Jets for knocking off NE and a silver lining if the Jets do by a miracle win will be that Revis played well (go Pitt!). OK, off to watch Pitt F up DePaul in bball cause I did enough chores today....haha

Sry so late - but by all means did anyone pick the Jets to beat TB and Belichick this year? I think not! I was def surprised by the game and how well they played against the Pats...as far as Pitt is concerned - If the Brady bunch did pull out the win, his record is impeccable against the Steelers...they just know what they're gonna play against em, and it seems that everytime they play, Pats don't just squeak by, they blow em out...luckily the Jets made the AFC championship even ...same goes for the Cheese and the Bears... I def wouldn't bet on anyone this year

btw - how much longer u think rayray is gonna play?

I have heard him say at least 2 which I believe finishes his contract. This could depend on if he gets any kind of major injury or stays healty all year like he did this year. This depends on a lot of things though. If we go to the playoffs next year and win the SB he may retire then. If we get close again next year and he stays healthy he will come back for one more. I think that he is in such good shape, he is extremely motivated to get another ring before he retires, and he sees the potential of the team i think he will play at least 2 more barring any major set back. As with any one in football there are always things that can make someone think about retirement. Look at Ed Reed, i think he only has ten years in compared to rays 15 but he is in bad shape physically. He has already concidered retirement. Same goes for Tony Gonzalez. He just said 2 days ago he is coming back next year. He is healty, playing decent for his age, and Atlanta has a great team. He wants a ring and on a team that can give it to him.

Just my $0.02

Dont forget when the Steelers lost to the Jets, Miller and Polamolu were out and we let them run back a kick off which rarely happens. As much I love my boy Revis (and Ftizgerald while we are at it...graduated same year) I really dont think the Jets are gonna pull this one out. Not gonna say the dont stand a chance. They totally do. This one is gonna be a tough one. But overall I just think the Steelers are better rounded. With that said... for fun... I will talk some sh*t. If we beat the Jets we will F up any NFC team we face....haha...run with it...
