Football Talkin Thread...
If our defense comes ready to play we will win. We beat the Jets with our offense, not our defense. How often can Pittsburgh say that? So if our offense plays like they did against the Jets and our defense plays they way they did in every other game this season we should be in good shape.
One thing to bring up...has there ever been another team to win a SB with their starting QB suspended for the first 4 games? Think about that! We had this season written off and now we are going to a fn superbowl!!! I cannot wait to party my azz off in the South Side all Sunday!!!

Now whats more amazing is that the Packers have 15 players on IR with 83 games total missed by starters. Now that's a feat to get to the Superbowl.
In any case, this will be a great game with two teams with strong defenses and offenses that can score points rather quickly.
The Redskins did it. Their starting QB wasn't suspended, but none of their players crossed the picket line. That's the closest thing I can relate to it.
Almost as many Packers fans as Steelers fans this week.
that is all
I am here. Just took a while to get back and get some time to get on EvoM (flight got back on Tues and have been swamped since then with work). I was at the SB and it was a fun event. Dallas wasn't quite prepared for the weather and there were some issues with all of that, but it was a fun venue.
The game was a let down for sure, but I don't regret going. It is hard to have 4 turn overs and not force any and win the game. Still, with those 4 turn overs if Suisham makes that kick the game is tied in the later portion. Also, at the end of the game we even had a chance to come back and win with time left on the clock. The second half was decent, and you could tell the Packers running defense was lacking but we just couldn't put a sustained drive together. At one point Mendenhall was racking up 5+ yards a carry, they just couldn't stop him; or any running back for that matter. I still believe that if he doesn't fumble that ball on the 40 that we win the game. At that point we wold have been up by 4 points I believe and had momentum going into the 4th.
It was a good season for the Steelers. At the start of the season, with Ben suspended for 4 games, many didn't even give us a chance to win the division let alone the conference. Even in the playoffs I didn't expect us to make it to the Super Bowl, it just never seemed as if they could put together a solid complete game. I don't mind losing to the Packers, they, like us (and Baltimore) are a stand up team with a good defense and a blue collar fan base. It was their time to win the SB, I have been lucky enough to have gone to three of them and we won two so as the saying goes, "You win some you lose some".
I just hope there aren't any more off the field issues...

About that. I'm still wondering how steelers fans felt about santonio holmes getting released for a DUI, But Ben getting a pass after a 4 game suspension.
Not a knock on steelers, but there is definitely hipocracy in the NFL as a whole.

Overall, I liked the game itself, and really suprised by how good the Pack really is...I mean, they're already crippled by losing about 14players to IR and I'm sure Steelers fans were even more happy about Driver, Woodson, and I think it was Shields that went down before the half...n the pack still won despite all of this! The conference champoinships were kind of a joke - both teams played just one solid half of football offensively, and was really sick and tired of the pre-super bowl crap that was airing. My fave part of the postseason has to def be the Jets run...it would've been nice to see a Green superbowl with Gangrene and the Cheese - really impressed with the Jets beating Manning and Brady back2back...
In all honestly, I love the NFL and don't think any other sport compares at this point, but a strike next season would give them a big fat slice of humble pie... NFL is turning into a *****, and really all this extravagant crap is really uncalled for...
Rooting for the Ray ray to finally get number 2 and the Indy Horseshoe nxt yr! oh ya, Bears, u guys suck! Couldn't step up to a real football team when it counted!
