As for the 16 year old, of course i congratulated him on the car. He is my neighbor. I am not the rude type of person to go in your face and say you dont deserve that car.
I was reading some of your posts and im not gonna say ALL teens are stupid drivers. I just think the majority of young drivers are inexperienced...Am I wrong?? Its a fact that most accidents are caused by inexperience teens.
My neighbor, doesnt know anything about cars. For example, he doesnt know the basics such as what is a intake manifold, where is the radiator, where is the coolant, etc. Of course it would be better to start out with a second hand car to learn off from. It doesnt make sense to get a high performance car and not know how to use it.
Im being honest, of course i am jealous. Who wouldnt be? The thing that made me so pissed in the first place was the fact that he said he was getting mazda 6 first and he straight up told me in front of my cousin that he was gonna race me. Then all of a sudden he gets an evo and says hes gonna smoke me. Doesnt that say anything?? A little cocky..huh??
Im just wondering....what comes to your mind when you hear a 16 year old driving an evo?
Too young?? Not mature yet to handle that kind of machinery? Car crash??
Or is it...
He must be a really good driver who has a lot of experience (1 year perhaps a couple of months) Hes a responsible person?(not many guys are at the age of 16)

Most of you assume that every 16 year old kid will drive like they're gunning for everyone on the street. And hey....I admit that statistics tells us that. But what if this is the one of a few kids that are super respectful and careful. Just because you give a kid an evo doesn't mean he's going to go 100+ and street race. You guys don't know this kid and therefore have no right to accuse him of being a *****. What do we know from what the author wrote? His neighbor is a 16 year old kid who just learned how to drive stick and doesn't know jack about cars. THAT'S IT. He never mentioned that this kid races, revs, or even remotely acts like a dick in his car. If you're going to jump on someone, it should be the author, after all, this is what HE said.
So who's the racer here? The author is the one concerned about racing and winning in a race. No mention of the neighbor racing AT ALL. And who cares if this kids dad got him an evo. All you're doing is *****ing and crying over someone else's fortunate childhood. So what if you had to work all your life to get what you want. DON'T *****.....you have no idea how people outside the USA have to live. Spend a month in Africa and then tell me that you're not lucky to even be able to have the life and OPPORUNITY that you have presented here. A lot of people are willing to work to get somewhere, BUT they can't, they have no opportunity. And don't think it's that easy and just say "well then they should move here like my ancestors/dad/mom etc did" It ain't that easy anymore, you think they just let anyone into the USA?

I should have clarified it more. Just calm the F*ck down...k?
I know im lucky to have the life i have right now. Ive seen the ugly side kids in different places have to live through. I know they struggle more than me.
If you dont care that his dad got him an evo...maybe you shouldnt have responded.
So are you saying its ok for hardworkers to get little and people who slack to get more? I know that happens a lot in todays society.

Sure it bothers me when people who work their **** off don't get much, but complaining about it won't do any good. Just be happy with what you have, that's all. I'd be jealous too if it was me, but I wouldn't start saying that he nor his dad knows nothing about cars and base that on whether or not he deserves his evo. Are you saying that only people who know about cars can drive certain cars?
My biggest concern about kids driving Evos and other similar cars is that the police and insurance companies DON'T differentiate between a 16-yr old with no experience driving and wanting to race everyone from the 31-yr old who drives fast, but is a responsible, experienced driver. Personally I don't care if the kid has a money tree in the backyard, I don't want my rates to go up because of it. Also, once the police start equating the Evo with a spoiled kid, then they will pull me over too. I am not worried about a ticket, I just don't want to be hassled all the time.
In short, if you are a lucky youngster with generous parents, appreciate what you have and don't ruin it for the rest of us working stiffs...

All i have to say is that you should baby the EVO. My first car when i was 17 was a 2001 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS rolled off the lot with 17 miles on it. I was a victim of a hit and run freeway race and slammed into the center divider at 85mph...totalled the car. the engine ended up on the right side of the car near the passenger. So dont go dicking around racing every damn person you see...cherish that shiet and take care of it good man...but congrads on getting an EVO at such a young age..you get mad bagging rghts when you go to elementary school then huh???

Okay, why do you have an Evo at 14? You cannot legally drive it? It is cool and all...just curious. Any pics of you and your pair of Evo's?

I hope he learns how to drive well though
