Whats the plate orignally from? In northern Japan the 300 series is for cars under a certain weight and the 33 plates were for the heavier cars and trucks which the road tax was almost double. I've got my old plate from Sapporo sitting in my closet.

I run the front tag because I've been pulled over numerous times for not having one, including once in my neighborhood! This then gave the cops reason to examine my vehicle from the outside and I ended up with a fix-it ticket.

With the front tag on, I don't have to worry about normal driving anymore. I don't mind running it on the Evo as it sits away from the FMIC. You can always remove it for the track as well, if you like.

Yup...I'm not gonna put the front plate on...I'd rather just take my chances with maybe having to pay the fine once in awhile...no points, so I don't really care. I drove a Vette for over 2 years with no front plate...never got stopped for it!

Caymandiver....NoVa cops are notorious for pulling over "heavily-modded looking cars"...

I was at the last import car get-together back in May, and everyone was checked for any violations. I usually leave the front plate off, but this particular draws too much attention...so it's on.

Be careful....

its illegal in texas to not have a front plate as well...i was going to take it off anyways, but i noticed the dealership bolted the front plate directly into my nose...i mean, its off on the drivers side of the front, not in the middle of course...and its only screwed into my nose in an underneath out of site place...but still...i'd have a hole in my nose if i took it off, so i left it...i guess its for the better...i dont need anymore attention from cops...

I left mine on mainly because of Police issues around in my area, they tend to profile because of the car I drive, BUT the important aspect for me is that I got EVO VIII as my plate for vanity and was suprised that no one in Illinois had it yet!!! >=O)

Apparently they aren't required in PA because I've never had one. I didn't realize I could get pulled over for it in MD, what a gay law.
