I have my front plate installed.....Though if I didn't, maybe that would have been my 'gimme' ticket instead of my "failing to adhere to posted speed limit" ticket...

I live in NJ where the cops are pretty strict with everything. But I just could not bear to put the stupid plastic license plate frame on the front of my car so I checked around to find out the fine and it is usually $20-$50 depending on the township and there are no points. That was a no brainer for me. Leave it in the trunk

No FP. I hate it. I have lived in NVA for the past 5 years and i have four cars with noooo FP. No way I am not going to put this **** on my car. One time a cop asked me after a car show where is my front plate on my S2000 and i told him that it does not look good, he laughed and let me go with no ticket. Cops wont pull you over for this. They will pull you over for speeding or at a check point. I asked the dealer specialy not to dril 2 holes in my front bumper for the plate and they did not. I have no plate no holes

Kinda off topic but someone in another thread talked about a CA plate with EVO 8AV8 on it. I checked VA dmv and no one took it so I placed an order. Can't wait to see what kind of trouble i'll be getting into.

I can see it now...A spankin new C6 pulls up to me, reading the license plate, says, "ya feel lucky, punk"..

Uh why, is it illegal to have aftermarket exhaust?? I thought only California was that retarded.

I forget the exact law here in VA, but the law does not say it HAS to be on the front of the car.

I think legally, you can put it in the front windshield and not be pulled over. Something to the effect of it being within a certain footage of the front of the car.

I'll try to find out more...

And no, I don't have mine on. It wasn't on when I bought it from SC, and if I put it on, I have to be inventive and find a way...which I just don't feel like doing

only info I could find online, and it's not specific...just says must be displayed on the front and rear of vehicle - not specifically where.

I love reading these posts. I was just getting my car washed next to a Fairfax County trooper. He checked out my car as we both pulled in and again as we were getting our cars dried. Keep in mind I have really dark tint, no front plate, an RMR exhaust, etc. etc. etc. What did he do? Absolutely nothing. I guess I'm lucky (like that guy who did a burnout in front of the cop and got away with it...).

VA requires front i beleive where is MD does not mine is off
The $70 dollar ticket I got in MD the other day says different.

I couldn't believe it either. The trooper was an ***, says he pulled me over for my exhaust(Vishnu Standard series). Then he noticed my non-existent front tag. I said" but sir, I just got the car and the special bracket for the front plate has not come in yet".

He wasn't buying it. I even had the tag laying in my front seat. Tried explaing how I usually have it on the dash, but that I didn't feel safe driving around like that since it was a projectile hazzard.

Long story short he wrote me a ticket for the tag and forgot all about the exhaust. I paid it and still don't have my front tag on and probably never will. FWIW..between my WRX and my EVO I drove around for 2 years without incident, untile now.

I've noticed MD cops have gotten worse by the day. I've received 1 fix-it and 3 front-tag tickets just this year for my Type-R and I would imagine a few more would be there if I were not running a front tag on the Evo.

The saddest part is that they've so rude to me each time... often claming I must be a rich kid who could care less about the fine. I guess you have to have problems when you pull someone over twice in a neighborhood.
