Ahhh and this has what to do with what? At VIR, other than taking a few more top spot wins at Redline Time Attack, we had an Oil Pump failure in our Unlimited Class Car. SO what we did was transplant some parts from IT to a OUR modified vehicle to place in Unlimited as well.
So we basically took a STREET Legal car (that BTW won the NASA Nationals weeks before) and competed against some of the fastest track cars on the east coast.
Here are the results of GT LIVE from VIR last year: http://www.gtlivetour.com/events/results_vir.html
Your boys at the horse farm might want to get there "heresay" straight.

I talked to my friend and according to him this is the story.
BTW this is on another forum
And the reason I started to talk about other shops is because everybody in this thread started too
What happened is they blew up two of their cars at the Summit Point Redline Time Attack. While both cars were being towed off track I was sitting in the passenger seat of one of the DTM employee's Evo, instructing awaiting to go out on track. While it was being towed passed our car he was talking to me very frankly about how they were
"borrowing" parts off of customers cars for this event, and that they are going to be very pissed if something of theirs broke. He kept going on and on about how they were calling up a friend of theirs to yank his motor out so that they could make GT Live with a mostly stock motor...so I guess that happened.
I have no reason to lie, I have no ****ing clue who any of the DTM guys are. Thats the first time I've ever seen those cars or talked to them. All I know is that the guy I instructed for sucked horribly, didnt listen to instruction, and couldnt find a gear or apex to save his life. I wouldnt want him working on my Evo because he's obviously an idiot. Those are all facts, not hearsay.

Hey, this is Mike @ Atlantic.
Over the years Atlantic Motorsports was a great place to work and serve alot of you guys, however I've personally had to make some changes and go on with my career. The guys at the shop are top notch and I have nothing but great things to say about them.
As far as tuning goes, I am 110% available to any of you, be it advice or actual tuning, I am still around and can be reached via this user name at all times. If anyone has any questions - do not hesitate to PM or email me.
I am currently not working for a shop, nor have any specific plans to do so, but my services are available to anyone that needs them in the area.
Again, I thank all of you for the opportunity - and now you know where to find me if need be.
Thanks again,
Mike

Nice glad 2 see your still around man, I will def be messaging u in the near future about a tune etc,...
Also and this is just hearsay
but at the last GT Live I heard that DTM had a car that blew up on track. And they were trying to source another motor from a customers car. This info came from my good buddy that instructs at VIR and witnessed this. I don't think he had any reason to lie about it..again this what I heard and it was not first hand.

Because DTM is SICK at track side... we swapped out the cartridge that night and the next day took 4th in Modified class with only 3 practice laps all weekend! What is great is that I spanked the crap out of that MAAMS car and was only 1 sec of Ali's pace with a stock 2.0 and letting off in the up hill S!
. I wanted to take it easy as I was allowing my girlfriend time attack the patriot course. To put this into perspective Ali's car was fully built 2.3 with a custom 8 point cage... Ohlin suspension... turbo... etc. etc. etc.. I was a stock 2.0 with DTM's Original prototype turbo, autopower cage, tanabe sustec coilovers, etc. etc. etc.. Ali should have been way, way, way faster. But he had suspension setup problems though. Couldn't get it just quite dialed in time. I'm sure that next year he will come back guns blazing and looking for blood aka 1st!
So I guess this is true if you're an outsider looking in and not asking any questions. But it's pretty far from the truth

GT Live is such a great event... There is soooo much to do and going on at the same time. I wish more evo's competed and participated!!!
But to get back on subject... so what is mike going to do for $$$ Pesos $$$ these days if he isn't going to tune or work at MAAMS?!!?
I would figure that MAAMS was doing pretty good with all those show cars...
He doesn't even drive an evo nor was he there for the event. Good story though....
Damn... I think they mistook my turbo blowing for my engine...

Not to forget we took 1st, and 2nd in that class too LEADING the pack by almost 8 seconds.

Anyways congrats at GTLive
Did you have the black evo? the one that the asian girl was driving?
That car was sick
I plan on running at this years GTLive
yep that varis bish of an evo aka betty was mine. The asian girl yep.. that's my girl... I think i got her hooked on TA. But she's a drifter. I sold the car though to a guy that is converting it to a drag car.
I'll be back on the circuit next year after I receive my new project... But I'll be there doing track side support to the army of cars racing this year under the dtm flag. Hope to see you there.

Funny story
I was at GT-LIVE with my girlfriend and we were watching your car tearing up the patriot course. And my GF who is really into cars was mesmerized by your car. She turned around and told me "man I wish I could do that" and I said why not.
After the run we expected a guy to climb out of the car and it was I guess your GF.
That instant my GF was inspired and said I need to do that!
I was like hellz yeah!! And we immediatly started on building a track evo
So thanks to your car and your Girlfriend
Odd about the RB...never heard of that
Let me know if you need any pointers... that car on that setup has taken ALOT of pole positions.
my girl drifts so she has some form of car control. Since my car was built to take abuse and had crazy wide tires 285's all around. She was scared to take it to redline because of the anti lag... lol... i would too if i had only driven the car once before to the grocery store!

Some of the models you can get a super charger as an option. You don't really see too many of them in japan as the all might turbo is supreme over there.

you do a nice job man, keep up the good work.
