This thread is BS...I have had 3 of my own cars run through AMS; a WRX, an EVO VIII, and currently my EVO X and I have had nothing but good experiences with them. The guys are all great and stick by their work and always go out of their way to help me out. Personally, I think if people would stop messing up their own cars and taking them to AMS to fix after the fact there would not be any problems. As I mentioned before they do great work.

Sorry but i have never had AMS do any work to my car but your basically saying that taking a car to a shop to fix and they dont fix it, after you pay them to fix it. You make no sense right here with what you just said! I thought the whole reason of taking your car to get worked on/ fixed is taking it to a shop??

But on a side note LMS and CBRD are both GREAT shops Lonnie/Ray will help you with anything you need as will Chad at CBRD

Refer to my post, in which I clearly state that if the owner would have originally taken their car to AMS to install XXXX part, rather then messing up the installation on their own they could have avoided a headache. They have never messed up any part installs on any of my cars for which I given them the keys to. AMS does a great job, but if the owner messes up the car that much on their own, I would expect the work to take longer.

I agree 100%.

I would stay far away from AMS.

So what you are saying is that the only reason you take your car to a shop is to get it fixed? What about to get a part installed, i.e., exhaust, turbo?...for those of us who don't have lifts

What I am saying is that I have never had any negative experiences with AMS. As mentioned previously, I have taken 3 of my cars there. Everyone is entitled to and has differing opinions, but I have nothing negative to say about them. I feel strongly about their work as they are currently helping me out with a insurance claim. They have gone out of their way to order the right parts and get the car fixed and back to normal.

flw,

I appreciate you telling your experience with Ams as I do with other members. It took me like 2 weeks to contact ams via telephone because nobody picked up. I was upset in parts flexibility also when they said they only did racing suction intakes and hks cams. Those were my only complaints. After speaking to LMS, I was glad to see they didn't have any problems in what parts/brands to install and didn't "force" a brand on me. I think dtm is a great place also but I just don't like the "brand forcing." I guess we all got to eat so I can't hate

Sorry if you had issues contacting us, but we do all we can to get to the phone during the day, and return messages in the morning.

As far as only installing HKS stuff? I run Kelfords in my Evo. We probably use Kelfords twice as much as any other cam. And we'll gladly install any part a customer requests. As far as intakes, HKS RS' are OK, but too overpriced. We'd never force a customer to a specific part....

And to each their own. There are bad accounts for almost any shop on here. It's not our practice to ask customers to post up their great experiences. It's usually the bad ones that find their way to the web. There is a large following to a particular shop that covers most of the posting for this local area. I've found that most of our customers have moved away from this and another local site because it's almost impossible to filter through the BS that gets posted.

So glad to see a post from 2004 that still finds the haters posting.

Best of luck with the work on the car. If we can help, cool. If not, cool.

Cory

sad to see that someone would go so far as to find a car forum(non member; zero posts) and post some hate on it. So much better to take your beef directly to the person you have an issue with, and resist posting verbal diarrhea on the forums.

Why would a subie owner go out of his way to have ZERO posts on EvoM and start a thread about AMS Tuning on here when they don't even own an Evo in the first place?

Cory is great guy every shop has its ups and downs. I have spent between my evo and my talon over the last 12 years a total of $43,000 dollars on various parts from shops like MACHV, BUSCHUR RACING, AMSTUNING, EXTREME MOTORSPORTS, TRE, ROAD RACE ENGINEERING and SHEP TRANS and I am here to tell you that you can never please every customer, because alot people that want to upgrade their cars want it done for free or close and its impossible to run a business for free. Also alot of people have their cars worked on by down right idiots and then bring it to another shop and expect them to make it all work again for very little money. I have dealt with all of these shops and I can tell you great stories where they went above and beyond and I can tell you stories where it was not so good. So give them a break
Cory has always told the truth and at least has been straight and to the point. Thanks

While im impressed corey handled this fairly professionally...FLW...just because you havnt had a bad experience does NOT mean this thread is worthless. If youve had a bad experience with a shop, and someone posted in your thread, that they havnt had a problem and youre stupid, would you agree with that? Its your choice on who you take your car to. Some shops are beat into the ground with negative things by customers, and there are still a few out there who have been going for a long time to that same shop, and never had a problem. Sometimes you gotta pick your customers to really put the effort foward on...although that SHOULD be EVERY customer.
