New EVO owner in Chicagoland
New EVO owner in Chicagoland
Hello All,
I'm from Arlington Heights, IL, and I'm obviously new to the board. I spent this past weekend driving my brand new graphite grey MR home from Orlando, FL, and I am looking to get involved with the whole scene locally here in Chicagoland. If anyone has any advice on how best to get started, I am definitely all ears.

Why did You get your car in FL.?
Thanks for the warm welcome.
As for why I bought my MR in Florida, I had been talking to a local dealer, and they said they could get me one. Unfortunately they said they would have to go quite a bit above sticker to get it. So I talked to the wife, got my dollars in order, and was getting ready to buy. Then my dad came though town, and we went to look at the standard Evos. He remembered that a friend of his had recently purchased a Mitsu dealership, so he was going to call and just ask about the car. Make sure they weren't seeing problems with them and such. Well, I was about two hours away from buying an MR from the dealer here, and my dad leaves me a message. His friend had gotten a pair of MRs in just 15 minutes before he called. One apex silver. One graphite grey. He also said he had the graphite one for me at sticker if I wanted it. So, about ten minutes later, I had a car and a plane ticket to Orlando.

Actually once I told the original dealer that I had bought the car somewhere else, they came back and offered to get it for me at Sticker. This was very different than the story I recieved up front, so I was happy to give the business to someone I actually know and trust. I think I will be keeping the car stock for a while, other than a set of Pilot Alpins. The '05 does come with the full maintence package and drivetrain warranty out to 100,000 miles. Technically even the turbo is covered for the full term.
I would love to make it to the meet, but it doesn't sound like theres a final place or time yet. If it is tomorrow in Schaumburg, I can probably stop by. Today though, I'm off to Milwaukee to watch my Marquette boys stomp on Arizona.
