Go with someone you know and just have him tell you what happens at an event! That's how I got started and I'm greatful for Steve (who unfortunately moved on from his lancer to his Mazdaspeed Protege) for inviting me to that one event. That's what started it all.
I'll remind you when I go to an event, and always check to see who is going to be at an event cause us EvoM people stick together! Right Bill?
but dont be scared of driving out there, it might seem overwhelming at first but if you dont start now, when will you?

There certainly is more good information out there, but this isn't a bad start.
Most importantly, get plenty of sleep before an event, be at the site early and enjoy it.
Regarding SCCA-CR Event #1.
Chicago Region Event Number One is Full
For those who haven't noticed, we have maxed out the entry for
Chicago Region's first event. We are actually overbooked. This
happens because folks were still able to season preregister, even
after the 170 limit was reached, and that, of course, let people in
through the "back door". Season Preregistration is now closed. We
will reopen it after this Sunday for those folks who still want the
convenience of not having to register for each event and not having
to worry about whether the event will fill up before you do get
registered.
I'm pretty sure there will be a few no-shows so I don't think we will
run with more than 170 entries. There may even be enough no-shows
for folks to show up and be on a wailist for the event. You can
actually e-mail the Registrar now to be placed on the waitlist.
See you all Sunday and for those who helped out at The Learning
Curve, THANKS A TON. The event went very well and it was due to all
of you falks that either helped or instructed.
With Numerous Hugs and Kisses,
Rick Ruth
