***Official Ohio Chat Thread***
I was looking at Megan racing yesterday, it's for $800, and Tein basics are $100 more if I'm not mistaken. So what do you guys think, they will be smoother than stock and still serve me on the track? Primarily it will be for street, but I was thinking that I might get something for track while I'm at it.
I saw that A-hole cop at a Christmas party for the station. I knew I'd see him again but didn't know when. It was pretty funny. When we first got there, I saw his wife who works at the station. She's very nice and said I should come over and say hi. I said that I wasn't so sure about that. Later, He interrupted a conversation I was having and held out his hand for me to shake.
After I put my hands in my pockets and about a minute pause
, I took my hands out of my pockets and shook his hand. Conversation went like this...A-hole cop: "Hey, my wife (that works at the station)said you were afraid to talk to me."
Me: "Afraid?, Yeah afraid I'd be an a$shole. Happy Holidays." (and walked away to my original conversation wih him still talking)
Sometimes a little revenge is so sweet!

Alright, I was up til 4am yesterday, taking the shocks off my evo. Guess what - they're all messed up (front). I just thought that I might have bad shock mounts, but noooo, front is toast.
The hammer noise that would happen on the bumps was the shock hitting against something inside. When I took a peak, it was all oily and a lot of dirt on it. They didn't have any boots on them. I guess because of all the dirt, the it was only going in half way
That's why my ride was a nightmare.
So now I was thinking about buying either - MR Bilsteins, Megan coilover or Tein coilover. They all are under a $1000.
I saw brand new MR bilsteins for $800 ( I was told that Bilsteins soak up more bumps but still suck on Ohio roads)
Heard good things about Megan and good things about Tein basics.
Which ones should I get? I'm shooting more for street smoothnest, but still planning on taking my car to the track once in a while. Plus why I'm leaning more towards coil over is because I don't like the height of the evo on stock springs.
I know coilovers have adjustable levels, but don't really know how coilover works, do I have to get them tuned, or I can adjust them myself (me ------> 0 knowledge).
So what do you think would be the best thing for me?
P.S. I have to order them tonight. Maybe you know some websites where I could get better prices? I know it's a lot of questions, but thanks for any help..... That's what makes you guys great!!!!!

Hit the search button at the top of your screen and start digging into some info and seek the knowledge you need. The info is out there. As a consumer you'll feel a lot better making a purchase decision on your own rather than having someone hand you the answer on a platter.
Hey Bobby, can you bring some of your extra plastic screws next time we meet? I am going to take the front bumper off as soon as I have the time and know they're basically one use things.
Ok, I've bought Megan Racing coilover today, should arrive next week. From what I read I can adjust the hight of the vehicle on those and then set the stiffness level and then I have to take the car for alignment. I was told that is has to be done by a professional shop that deals with racing suspensions, and can corner balance it etc. Do you guys know of someone here in Cleveland that does alignment professinally?
I've used White Wheel Alignment on Lorain Rd. and have had great luck with them.
There is also Galati's which is also on Lorain just west of Brookpark and Lorain. They are a race prep shop.
Be prepared to spend some decent coin for a good alignment though. Many will expect for you to provide specs for them so be prepared.
Don't worry, it's well worth it.

Thanks for the pointer though
All specs seem to be mostly for track and daily driving doesn't matter to people that much. I was looking for a daily driving comfort too.
It's not necessary to respond to this. Seems like I'm being pain in a butt. I'll manage, if you guys want to change the topic it's alright, seems like I'm the only one talking here lately.
How about some meets?
