My Taco is always ready to go. Dunno though, I remember the Cherokees with the V8 as being suprisingly fast.

FOB has the right idea, maybe we should have a proper challenge for the vehicles, like a 4wd or towing competition.

Here is the date and location info...

Those Fun Day events are not grouped by experience level, there are no instructors available, and there are typically very few corner workers. I did a couple events back in '04, and unless things have changed I'm not sure I'd recommend it to a first-timer. We basically ran all day, as long as we wanted, with every type of car and level of driver on the track at the same time. On the up side, they are usually lightly attended and you can gets GOBS of track time.

At a Nelson Funday there are no instructors and always at least one complete Bozo. On the other hand there usually aren't a lot of people so you can run 'till you drop. Nelson is very fast and not really what you'd call technical, though the right line can be hard to find in places. It's mostly just a bunch of big, sweeping right-handers, but Oak Tree is a tight, cambered 180 left that you can power through.

But then there aren't really any corners!

Probably should have added in my other post that BeaveRun is not much further than Nelson. A much better experience in my opinion, and I'm not worried about using the bathroom there!

My point was that if you happen to go off, there is a good chance that no one will see you....

Wouldn't matter anyway, you'd just get sucked into the swamp!

Alright, so to learn basics it's better to go with NASA events, and once you're pretty good you can attend FunDays, but watch out for wackos.... Is that the summary?

P.S I probably won't come to shearer's event. My evo is at the shop, getting re-born I'll see if it will be done by then
