Oh.
Well, it’s time that I put my 1999 Eclipse GS-T up for sale. The car has 97,050 miles on it (6-11-08) subject to change because I still drive it occasionally.
I am the second owner of this car and the Carfax report is available upon request. The car has never been in an accident and I am a non-smoker.
I bought the car back in 2002 bone stock with ~ 65,000 miles on it from southern California. It’s only seen one winter since. It’s been a great car for me and has avoided all the typical DSM plagues. It shifts smooth, motor is very strong, and does not leak oil. I’ve averaged less than 5,500 miles per year on it since I’ve owned it.
I prefer emails over PM’s and check my email much more frequently. If you have any questions, you can email me at: talnz167@yahoo.com . Please include your forum user name and which forum you are from.
The Fun:
Car’s Mods are listed below. All mods were installed my either me, or professionally by Pure Tuning (http://www.pure-tuning.com/) in Toledo, OH. 419-474-7992.
-Injen Intake system.
-Apex-i turbo-back exhaust with welded in high-flow cat (always passes emissions) and N1 muffler.
-Hallman MBC
-Greddy-S BOV/ DV (always re-circulated)
-16G turbo at 18psi (never boosted higher than 18psi) with SS oil return line and AN fittings
-Walbro 190 fuel pump
-550 fuel injectors
-Apex-i SAFC II (dyno-tuned by PT*)
-Tein Basic coilovers
-Rear camber correction kit.
-Powerslot oversized, two-piece (11.7” I believe) slotted front rotors.
-Brand new front Hawk HPS brake pads (5-10-08; 96,937 miles). Hawk HPS pads in rear.
-Brembo sloted rear rotors
-SS lines
-Rota Subzero Royal Black (Black with polished lip) 17x7.5 (16lbs each) wheels
-BF-Goodrich KDW2 tires: 225/45/17 (70% tread left). Rotated regularly.
-Greddy big FMIC
-Greddy hard IC piping (lower & upper)
-Earl’s oil-cooler with AN fittings and SS lines (I cut out a part of the plastic part of the front fender to help airflow through the cooler).
-Gauges (all Autometer Ultra-Lite 52mm series):
Boost
Oil Temp
Water Temp
EGT w/ TRE probe
Oil Pressure
-*Professionally dyno-tuned by Pure Tuning after all above listed power mods. Made ~ 225 whp on their Mustang 1100 dyno (reads very similar to Buschur’s; I’ve had my Evo on both with no mod differences) which is ~ 280 hp at crank. This car is set-up and ready for a bigger turbo and new tune to just be dropped in if wanted. I set it up to be quick and easily 'street-able', which it's both.
Factory Stuff:
The car is what would be considered ‘loaded’ from the factory. It includes:
-CD player
-Cassette player
-10 Disk changer in the trunk (Sony, installed by previous owner)
-Tan leather
-Sun roof
-A/C (hasn’t been used in a long time, might need recharged)
-Power everything
-Driver/ Passenger side airbags
-Factory alarm system
Misc:
-I have title in hand, there are no liens on this car.
-I have a copy of the car’s original window tag.
-All maintenance done when needed/ as required. All major belts (Timing, balance shaft belt, AC belt, PS belt, alternator belt), changed at ~ 65,310.
-New alternator and alternator/ power steering belt (4-16-07).
-Always have used either Mobile 1 synthetic or AMSoil synthetic and changed religiously.
-I have a notepad in the glove-box with everything that’s been done to the car, date and mileage… which I try to keep up to date but it’s not perfect. I also have most receipts from work done or parts bought.
-Always used premium gas, 93 or better. Here in Ohio we get 94 very easily.
-Fog lights removed with ducting back to the brake area.
-Hole drilled below intake cone with 3” dia ducting from bumper to intake filter.
-Raised hood up ~ ¾” in back using washers to aid in cooling (ever since the FMIC install, it does a good job of blocking air to the engine bay and radiator). I always keep an eye on the water temp, oil temp, and EGT in the summer and have never had issues.
-Transmission fluid changed at 93,4XX.
-Brand new valve cover gasket (6-1-08)
-Fresh oil change (6-1-08)
-Brand new battery (6-8-2008). *Some of the pictures were taken before new battery was installed.
The Bad:
-The passenger’s side lock is a little stubborn but is easily lockable with your hand or a couple of pushes from the automatic door locks. The key doesn’t work in the passenger side (simply from lack of use is my guess), but two turns in the driver’s side will unlock it. Locks are too stubborn to use the remote… last time I tried anyway.
-The cruise control doesn’t work anymore.
-The trunk is stubborn. After pulling the latch, sometimes it doesn’t unlock completely so you either need to get someone to hold the latch while you pull up on it or do what I do and use a small tool to prop the latch.
-There is a scrape on the lower part of the bumper on the passenger side.
-Car has a few small scratches and dents typical a car its age. Overall, paint and body are in good shape.
Closing:
My price is $9,750. There is no warranty, the car is sold as-is, blah blah blah. I am willing to ship this car at buyer’s expense (that’s how I got it). The car must be paid for in full verified by my bank before it goes anywhere, however. If you want any detailed pictures of anything in-particular, let me know and I will try and get them to you within 24 hours. I am not willing to part out. If I had time to take it all apart I wouldn’t be selling it in the first place. I will try my best to make arrangements if anyone wants to come look at the car in person.
I have had this car for years and love it to death. I have learned so much from this machine but I currently have three cars and an Evo now and it’s time for me and it to move on. This is a very nice car and moderately and tastefully built. I hope the next owner appreciates it and likes it as much as I do.
