I live in the chicagoland area and i am planning getting some cams, gears and headstuds installed and i was wondering where in the chicago land area did you get your cams installed and how much did you pay for the install.

 

i would rec. ams since your in chicago area usually a cam install is from 200-350 head studs are usually a hour of labor if your getting the cams installed and studs at the same time

 

redevo58 i am in the same boat as you. anyone got it done anywhere else than AMS

i say take em to AMS

 

If you want maybe we can get try and get them installed at same place and see if they give us a discount or something for getting them done at the same place. let me know what you think.

hey i called devotuning . adam that used to work for AMS owns it i believe . they said 280 installed for cams and studs. i wil ask them what they say if its two people. you getting cam gears too ?

 

i will probably get the gears too.

 

i see that you have a custom flash, do you know if cam gears are needed with al's flash?

 

ask about for three with studs. i will not be getting gears. i also would need a street tune from adam. i am not sure if i am going to cam this month, but if the price is right i will.

cam gears are not requires with any cams it is entirely up to you if you want. i called adam and have setup something for friday(6/3). let me know if that day works for you guys. if friday is good i can ask them then for 3 people.

I need head studs done but might be looking to do it myself since the labor cost will be more then the studs.

 

i would probably get a dyno right after 6/3. do u know their regular rates if i walk in and just want a dyno

 

Eric quoted me $350 for cams, cam gears, and headstuds at AMS. I decided to save some money and installed them with a few buddies. It took a little while, but definitely worth it. I know the head mechanic Tim over at AMS and they do awesome work, so if u want a quality install, take it to AMS.
