***Official SW Ohio Chat Thread***
I didn't have any time to drive it on track, but Dave was fast in HPDE 3 and got signed off for 4/TT yesterday. I did drive it on the roads around Mid Ohio (20 minute drive or so) and found it quite competent. Even with KW's on the ride was plenty comfortable. Steering was nice and precise, and there was plenty of power on tap. The seats are maybe a touch narrower than the VIII's and firm. It also seems like they sit a bit lower that in previous years. I like that fact there is cruise control, although remote buttons for the stereo on the sterring wheel would have been nice. Gearbox felt good and the clutch was really light. Overall I was impressed, and would not be against selling the VIII for one.
Anyone have a set of MR BBS rims they'd like to sell? Looking for a second set for summer driving.
Also, I saw a white X in Tri-County the other day. It was hot - much better than the red color in my opinion. Anyone on here?

I'm thinking Dave said he ran 1:43's in the X.
I wish I could've went to Mid-O. I don't feel all that bad though considering the weather wasn't all that great. I've been too busy doing training the past few weeks. Hopefully I'll be at the next one.

I met a guy named John with a red X. I have to say the car looks outstanding. It is rather classy compared to my 8. The car looks much bigger than the 8 when they are parked side by side too. I looked it over a bit and if I were to be in the market for a new car...it would be an X for sure.
Anyone going to AutoX this weekend at KY Speedway with the Cincy SCCA???

Unfortunately beggers can't be choosers at this point. If you know of a better lot then speak up so we can make the move. I dunno if I will be there any how. Family first you know.

Oh if any of you are looking to go to a meet here is an invite I was given......
" This originally was going to be a Supra meet, but honestly there are like 10 Supras in the Tri-State and probably 3 will show up so why not expand it.
Time to get your car out of hibernation Cruise-In.
The roads are salt free, and the weather is warm - Time to bring your vehicle out for the summer.
All makes and models welcome. Come out and meet some local gearheads.

I will be there. Bring out your toys and let's check it out.

Just because I don't like the Speedway lot (or River Downs) doesn't mean I know where a lot is. This is the same problem faced by quite a few regions. Auto-x near Cleveland is all but dead because of not having a place to play. Sucks, but what can you do? Even if I knew of a place nobody in the Cincy SCCA would listen anyways since I'm not part of the 'in' crowd. Very clique-ish.

Greg,
I hear you there....I guess we will just have to suffer if we want to autoX.
As for the meet I was told that it is supposed to be for higher end cars. To be honest I don't know what will show up.

if the SCCA was smart they would have taken all the money they have made over the 30 years or auto x and bough a piece of land and paved it. That way there would be no issues. Dayton had better lots the cincy does.
