They have been around forever. More popular in smaller race cars like formula cars. We ran them on our Formula SAE car at UC along with about all the other teams. Give them a call, tire guys love to talk shop.
I need a little help on picking out some cams , my choices are Brian Crower stage 2 (272's) GSC 272's or Helix v2 272's hollow cores . also buying 10.5 hotside , ss 02 housing, ic pipes . i have read about all these cams just can not decide which ones
To bad you're not interested in a used set of HKS 272's, I would be able to save you some money.
The BCs are significantly cheaper than the others and I doubt you could feel any real difference between the three. My vote is for the BCs. And I would not do the intercooler hard pipes, do a nice FMIC instead. They do just fine with the stock pipes. As a matter of fact I would save the money on the IC pipes and 10.5 hotside and do a FMIC. You would net the same gain, save a little money and the FMIC is stupid easy to install. Pick up a fuel pump with the money you save and get a nice agressive tune. You will be plenty happy with the cams.
I have GSC 264s on my car, stock Evo8 turbo and TurboXS FMIC and my car pulls just fine up top. The same setup with 272s would be awesome.

I have the GSC's (272/264) and most of you know how my car pulls, Eli has the BC's and likes them a lot. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them, although I don't know anything about the Helix cams.
