Greg.....are you an EcuFlash master yet? I have been playing with the program and finally understand just about all of the different tuning options. Tell me your thoughts on MAF rescaling. Because I have HKS hard pipes I believe the MAF scaling is off causing the lean condition at 4500 rpm. Any suggestions on how to fix it other than through the high fuel table?

You're already in trouble by him.

I talked to Bruce. Wright Tuning doesn't have an awd dyno. They will be getting a rwd/fwd dyno in a month or two though.

You're probably lean at 4500 because you don't have enough fuel at peak torque. What is you a/f there? MAF scaling won't do anything for the hard pipes, what intake do you have? An unstable MAF reading at idle is an indication of intake induced turbulence, something that MAF scaling probably won't fix. MAF scaling is for engines ingesting far more air than originally intended.

ya I actually was gonna say the same thing. but not as technical. Your prolly not getting enough fuel and the avcr your running isn't going to help. IT could infact be the tunning on the avcr thats causeing you the trouble, or the avcr itself! You ever change the fuel pump or are you still on stock pump? Your car has alot of miles on it could be simple has having your injectors cleaned and balanced. Or maybe your making enough power to be exceeding the duty cycle of the stock injectors.

I have the full HKS Suction intake. My injectors are stock, but I have a set of AMS 760cc's and an AMS Fuel rail going in soon. As for the AFC...I have it zeroed out. All it is now is a funky light show. I put in a Walbro 255 a long time ago. I installed an HKS DLI II and that helped a bit as the car seems to run a bit smoother. From the sounds of it there is a combination of things happening. Greg I believe your answer about peak TQ is correct and Brendan I think you are right about the injectors. I don't have any hard AF numbers. Those will have to wait until the Exedy HD clutch goes in and the car id dravable again.

Basically the car drives fine until you get on it from lower RPM and accelerate through to high RPMs. The car stumbles at about 4500 RPM than all of a sudden pulls like normal. I dont get a CEL and the AFC isn't picking up any knock. It's wierd.

Oh as for my wing issues. I have an 06 MR one on the way. Gotta love EvoM deals. Its lighter and has the gourney flap. Not that it means a whole lot.

You will hit high 90% duty cycles with the stock turbo, but it WON'T lean the car out - even with cams. The injectors will lower IDC, but the only way to get rid of the lean spot is through tuning. Who tuned your car? Using what? If it's stumbling noticeably, something is really wrong with the tune IMO.

Paul, maybe I missed it but how did you tune it? Do you have a wideband? Are you logging a/f, timing, boost, etc?

Paul I would seriously invest ina wide band. Especually with all the parts you have, and plan on doing... Cheap insurance, and honestly a must. I ran DSM injectors on my turbo civic, and I had them ballanced and cleaned by RC engineering. Same people the make the RC injectors. IT cost 100 bucks again cheap insuance. Turn around is quick too!

I have a zietronix already installed. I am still in Kuwait. Upon my return I will surely do some logs and tuning. I just wanted to get your opinions.

The problem all started when I installed the 10.5, header and O2 housing. Prior to that the car ran great. The only tune in the car right now is the mail in dynoflash. I listed my modes when I sent it in. I have since done a lot more so ultimately yes the tune is off. My AFC is running flat....aka no adjustments what so ever.

The crazy thing is the car put down 320whp on a dynopack dyno when I was in maryland last year. It had the stumble then too. annd get this....It is still on stock cams. I wonder what cams and a FMIC will bring?? hmmm.
