EVO Convoy to Normal, IL! Oct 22nd!!

UPDATE!! Mini Meet Friday Night at AMS, leave from there Saturday Morning!!

Schedule is as follows:

Friday, Oct 21st:
- Leave from Renner Mitsubishi, 1701 N. Mayfair Road, Wauwatosa, WI at 5pm.
- Drive down to AMS in Arlington Heights, arrive by 7pm.
- Cookout at AMS, hang out, mini meet till ???
- Check in at Motel 6, 1/4 mile from AMS. 8 rooms reserved, all filled. Overflow will have to get their own rooms, or camp out in someone elses.
- Various other partying, but better get your sleep!

Saturday, Oct 22nd:
- 6am, Fireball WILL BEAT ON YOUR DOOR if you stayed at the Motel 6, so you are UP!
- 7am, MEET AT AMS!! If you want to drive down with us, and go to the breakfast, MAKE SURE YOU ARE THERE!
- Shortly after 7, (waiting for any late people), we will head down to Lockport, IL, to go to fellow members Dan (IX MR)'s house for Breakfast! He's agreed to make it for us, possibly a minimal donation required. Arrive about 8:30am.
- Leave by 9:15 from Dan's house, to head to Normal.
- Arrive at the plant, no later than 10:30 for the show.

I will be providing MAPS to ALL locations, incase the group is separated, as well as my cell phone number that day!!

For those WI people wanting to drive back up with me, or the group, I plan on leaving about 3 (after the show) and heading up a different way, straight back. You're welcome to come with.

THINGS TO BRING!
- Clothes if you're staying over
- TOLL MONEY! (damn IL tolls!!)
- Radios! Any talkabout type radio works!
- Cameras!
- GOOD ATTITUDES! Remember, with the amount of people, it will take a LOT of time organizing.

Update: As mentioned, AMS is going to have a mini-meet Friday night that everyone can come to. People who have drived a little distance can find a place to crash nearby and we'll all leave from some central place nearby Saturday morning about 7 or 8, latest.

So, if you would like to be in the convoy, make SURE to be at AMS Friday night!!

ACCOMODATIONS:Ok, there is a Motel 6, right down the road from AMS. It's $48.99 a night for a room with 2 beds in it. That's less than like $25 a person.

UPDATE: I have 8 rooms reserved. If we need more, I can probably get more.

I need to know solid numbers now... who's all coming so I can make reservations. There's PLENTY of rooms available there.

PM me with your name/phone number and I'll add you to my reservation list.

As I'm sure most of you already know, Mitsubishi Motors - North America, is putting on a "Return to Normal" Mitsubishi Owners Day (MOD). This will attract people from all over the Midwest, and I suspect, a LOT of Evolution owners.

I say to that, lets show Mitsubishi how much we can unite, and show up in a HUGE convoy at the same time at the Normal plant and wow everyone!!

Because of my involvement in Mitsubishi, I already have a couple calls placed to see if we can get any special treatment and seeing what they would like us to do!

Here's my initial plan:

Since it's a 3 hour drive from the Milwaukee area, I figure that we can have a mini-meet somewhere on the way to Normal. AMS, is centrally located for all the IL people. So, Friday, the 21st, people from this area, leave to drive down to AMS to meet up with a LOT of the IL people from Chicago and other areas. Someone that is from that area, can recommend a hotel, or even better, someone who lives in that area, offers a place for us to crash. With a bunch of people like this, I don't think it'll be expensive to get a couple hotel rooms for cheap.

Then on Saturday morning, we all hit up some place for breakfast, around 8ish, and then drive down to Normal. It should only be a good hour drive at that point.

Just imagine seeing over 30 to 50 Evos roll in at one time to a Mitsubishi Owners Day!!

I need suggestions, comments, and commitments! I'll keep a running list, and update the plan on THIS post as things change. I'll be more than happy to corrdinate things on this end as much as I can.

Coming:
1) Fireball (Bryan)
2) Fireball pt2 (My other Evo.. just need a driver! )
3) CARkid
4) petersa (Andy)
5) Tek3 (Tom)
6) mavrick92482 (Gerald)
7) Brett
8) Laakness (Mike)
9) Tristar Racing
10) number 8
11) Kc2Buk ?
12) EnJaNir
13) MR 8U
14) EasyZ06
15) AND A LOT MORE. Estimating 20-50 Cars, 50-100 people!!!!

Cliffs to those who don't wanna read:
- Bunch of Evos wanting to roll into MOD 2005 together
- Mini-meet night before, somewhere centralized. (Schaumburg?)
- 30-50 Evos rolling in at one time, we all get to park together and wow everyone, PRICELESS

The flyer...

Sounds like a great idea. I wouldn't be surprised if there is over 100 EVOs there.

I probably won't make your caravan, but I'd like to meet you at the event. I'll be trailering my car down there. Either by black 95 Stealth, or black 95 Spyder VR4.

See ya there,
Curt

I may be interested. Depends on work mostly. But just a heads up, from Schaumburg to Normal is more like a 2+ hour drive, unless your doing 120+. I think its 130 miles?
