I will go on record right now as saying it will be too close to call till its over.

There will of course be some fast straight line 1/4th mile cars Domestics have the background and history to be on top.. AWD will be tough in the 0-60 a 1500 lb Honda can win the braking contest, a Mini can probably outslalom all of us, the autocross will be VERY close with the AMS car vs Danny's vette, and whatever else might show up.

One thing to look at.. this year in SCCA Street modified there was two BMWs, an Evo and a Civic in the top 4, The vettes run in Strret Mod 2, but with that in there, I think the top will be a good mix, and it might come down to which way the wind is blowing as to who wins.

Great points Jon! It is the fact that 70 cars per side have to perform well, and it WILL be too close to call. we (our side) can have a couple 1000+hp Supras who would help us in the 1/4 mile, but hurt the "team" effort in the other events. The Lotuses will help us in the Auto-X, and not do that well for the team in the 1/4. It will be exciting and a nail-biter till the end I am sure! Stay tuned! I will be campaining the Porsche clubs with their GT's, and there are some Noble M12's wanting to "dance" also. We will hold our own.

As a side-note, in case you were wondering, each side will have 5 or 10 "alternates" in case someone has issues with their car, and cant continue on in the "BATTLE". I am also working on dilligently getting some prizes for the event, above and beyond the trophies. Ie: Exedy Clutches/Tanabe coilovers and their other fine products, and of course TIRES! That is why I posted this up early, so we have time to make this an OVER THE TOP event!! Will keep you posted on the results, as they happen. Open Registration is real soon, until end of April, and once the open registration is over, Captain of TEAM USA and Myself Captain of TEAM IMPORT will scour through the apps, and spend a few days, selecting our "TEAMS". Hopefully the website will be done SOON, so you can read the rules/regs/ etc... and toss the preverbial hat in the ring. I said when I started this last year, that this WILL BE the premiere event and the most unique around, and it is looking like I was right!!.

And again, once the website is up, tell everyone you know about it, post this link everywhere you can think of, and stand by till spring, getting your cars ready for battle, and It wouldn't be a bad idea to wear and extra set on underwear either! You, your car, and your SPHINCTER will be tested!!!

Still not posted is the Grand Finale event, Only the top 5 on each side get to do this event under the lights, to determine the WINGED WARRIOR GRAND CHAMPION 2006. Awesome event, which will ONLY be mentioned the DAY of the Event. It will entail glowing rotors, and alot of tire smoke to say the least.

Another thought (damn coffee). There is a KOA campground 100yds off I-70, which is 1 mile from the "battle ground"-airport. I will reserve spots there, as with the local hotels. You cant park the RV's in the fences at the airport, but you are also welcome to park the RV outside the fence at the airport, and just run your generators. Once the gates open, I will be arranging an RV-Row for all us with RV's to park inside the fence.

This event is for the Kids at Riley Hospital for children, remember that, and this is a family event, and not a drunken biker rally. (nothing wrong with those I guess, but NOT HERE) The only vomit chunks I will probably step in, is the captain of Team USA's, when he doesnt get to stand on the "podium"!

One day! we will have 20 cars (10imports/10domestics) at each station, and have a "shot-gun" start! wheels spinning, the smell of race-gas permiating the WHOLE airport! Once the station is complete (3 attempts per event), you move collectively as a group to "event 2". Repeat until all events are done, and the scores are tallied.

top 5 of each team throw-down for the overall winner! (brief synopsis) but for those who don't want to read the whole thread, here is a generality!

I hope that we luck out on the weather again...(knock on wood), because last year turned out to be a beautiful warm, windy, and sunny day...

Jon is CRAZY!!! Wet pavement will test the skills, though.

Can't wait to see what the final event will be!! I think it might be more exciting than a 0-100-0 though . I hope I get to do it.....as long as it isn't some sort of Fear Factor stunt. I see Joe Rogan and I am GONE!!

I am of the opinion that racetracks should all have sprinkler systems along them and they should always be on...
