Well, I think I've decided to turbo the car I'm now looking into either buying a premade kit, or custom building one myself using either a T25, T28 or a stock Evo 16g turbo. Otter and I will install it in his garage. Hopefully I can even get to stage 2 in time for the meet

. . . the autocross will be VERY close with the AMS car vs Danny's vette, and whatever else might show up.

One thing to look at.. this year in SCCA Street modified there was two BMWs, an Evo and a Civic in the top 4 . . . .

How about an EVO running the exact same suspension/wheel/tire/chassis setup as the '05 ESP class National Champ, but with about 150 more WHP? And maybe the champ driving for the autocross?

Unless I get told otherwise, I am going to assume that defending national champions will be at the Pro Solo In Peru 100 miles or so away.

If they will be there, awesome, then I will throw them into the "too close to call" mix as well.

I don't think John and Andy do many ProSolo's. I think they did the Oscoda one last year because it is close to home, but that's it. If they aren't busy I may be able to beg Andy to either bring thier car or drive my car for the autocross portion.

That would be really sweet then if they didn't go to the Pro, I just wasn't going to count on the "major" autocrossers skipping it, but if they already skip them, cool deal I hope they come down.

Smoked I am sure we will have some SCCA guys, but most of the top.. and I mean top in the country, will be in Peru because of the Pro.

This is a "national" event, with a better cause, and more fun and excitement for sure! Thanks for helping out, as usual.

All I know is Danny told me on the phone that the date is "perfect" for him. He'll have almost 2x the horsepower at WW as his championship autocross car. I'm taking my car to his shop next week to have it prepped for the race season, so I'll double-check.

Sorry about the website confusion, Kevin. I'm waiting on the graphics from HPC DIO right now. That's the bottleneck at the moment.

I don't know if there was some confusion here. I was referring to Andy Lieber and John Tak's ESP Solo2 Nationals car.

NP, I thought you were saying all the national guys (like Danny Popp) would be at this other event.

There are alot on the fence, and would prefer comming to this event! But then again, we are not "loading" teams with these people anyway. 10-15% might be "racers", the rest is the average joes like you and me!

SCORING DETAILS:

Here is some info on the scoring (Thanks Quick.silver)

Scores will be analyzed in several ways to calculate Prizes/awards given for the event. Results will be broken down by:

1. OVERALL EVENT CHAMPION:

Will be based on stratification of the raw times of ALL 140 Competitors for ALL 6 events. (car-show scores not included). Scores for each event will be scales as 1st=140pts. 4th= 137pts, and so on. Points for all 6 events will be summed to determine the event Champion. Also, the top 10 finalists by this calculation will be announced and invited to the final event with the opprotunity to win additional prizes.

The top 5 overall will be given Awards.

2. INDIVIDUAL EVENT CHAMPIONS:

Will be based on stratification tf the raw times of all 140 competitors for each individual event. 21 of these prizes will be awarded, with 1st/2nd/3rd (podium finishers) recieving prizes. The car show will be scored for these awards also.

3. OVERALL CLASS CHAMPIONS:

Based on the stratification of the raw times within each class of 20 cars for all 7 events. Scores for each event will be scales as 1st=20 pts. 4th is 17pts, and so on. Points for all 6 events will be summed to determine the event champion within EACH class. 21 prizes will be given again, with 1st/2nd/3rd awarded WITHIN EACH CLASS.

4. OVERALL TEAM WIN:

Bases upon the average of each teams raw numbers for each event, minus the slowest 5 from each team for each event. The event wins will he read off individually ("team import wins the slalom, etc...) Until the 7 events are read off. The carshow will be the tiebreaker. Like we will need one!

These are the rough draft scoring template. may change slightly, before they are on the website. Just want to give you guys a "taste" of what we have been doing.
Later!
