He was very detailed and double-checked stuff. I was happy with his work. I am yet to drive the car hard after the install, but am just satisfied in knowing the work was done by a professional!
yah, i was thoroughly impressed with him. i hadnt settled on what route i wanted to take with my suspension ...but after stopping out at his garage sale he had back in march, i was convinced he was the man to get it done. by april i was setup. lol
The install went pretty good on my evo. Robi got here around 730 pm and finished up around midnight. He put on some KW's, GC camber plates, endlinks, and alignment/cornerweight. I was planning on getting his 25mm rear sway but my catback exhaust was in the way. So, i'll be running my old hotchkis sway till I can get a different catback. He also had a problem with one of the rear bushings I installed myself a month or so ago. It took a little convincing with a BIG hammer.
After we got his truck packed up and ready to go, we took out the evo for a quick test drive. We hit some twisties that I would have never attempt to go faster than 60-70mph with the stock suspension. With Robi's setup, I was hitting 80-90mph with ease. Robi gave me a few pointers and with a little practice I should be pretty much uncatchable(to anything around here).
The car rides much better than the stock suspension while just crusing. I should be able to give a better review once I get some more wheel time in.
Overall, I'm very impressed with Robi's install. He's a super nice guy and I'll definitely do business with him again.
Robi's the MAN!

Robi did a very thorough job on my car, too. It was miserable weather for the install; it didn't stop raining for a minute. The only real excitement of the install was me scrambling from machine shop to machine shop -- five in all -- to find someone who could lathe the spring perches that came with my GC camber plates. The perches had the wrong inside diameter for the springs.
After talking with Robi, I'm quite certain that the adjustability of my KW's is well beyond my understanding of suspension dynamics. I took notes, but I need to become better attuned to what the suspension is actually doing while I'm driving.
Robi got back on the road around 4:30, and I took the car for a ride. I made it less than 10 miles before my rear suspension started banging away like a jackhammer. So, I pulled into a parking lot to check things out. Forgetting that my ride height was even lower than before, I crunched my splitter on the transition which jammed the turnbuckle supports through the bumper. Ugh.
Unfortunately, the washer that presses the rubber stoppper against the top mount was the wrong diameter. Both rubber stops had popped off and my rear struts were no longer anchored to the chassis, hence the banging. Earlier in the day I had chosen to go with the stock rear top-mounts rather than my Works pillowball mounts. Robi didn't have the stock washers, so he improvised.
Ookami and DaWorstPlaya came to my rescue, and we spent an hour in a downpour at night trying to sort things out only to determine that we didn't have the right tools. I limped home -- windows fogging up because my A/C is broken, too. On a positive note, we should be able to get the rear suspension fixed this evening pretty easily.
I certainly don't blame Robi for any of this. I'm convinced my Evo is cursed! Seriously, I must have done something in a previous life to offend the car gods, because this past year and a half has been one long nightmare. :|

Damn James, so sorry to hear this! I feel bad for ya.
Why didnt you run the Teins....errr I mean "Works" pillow ball mounts?
I am running Teins front and rear. Hope I don't have issues.
I have not driven it much, I need to do that ASAP, maybe!

Just do it.

I asked Robi if the pillow-ball mounts would limit the travel of the KW's and possibly create squeaking, and he said yes. It's probably a different story with the stock struts.

Evo won't see rain, I swear.Yeah, I wish he was closer. There are a few more things I want from him! Yeah, I hope it don't squeak!
Cars are made out of metal, aluminium, rubber and plastic, it won't melt in the rain
The evo is fun to drive in the rain and snow.
Btw, now that you got a cool suspension setup, you wanna take a trip to Michigan Oct 9th for a road course event? It's the last one of the season
