Devo Tuning in Lake Barrington IL
Anyone go to them or use them for tuning? I have heard good things about this shop. Just looking for reviews/personal experience

I've heard mixed reviews as well. I've seen and ran some sick *** devo built cars and some hack jobs done by devo. I've got people swearing devo is the **** and some saying devo is sh!tty lol. I haven't heard anything recently tho. Why not go to AMS for a tune? Actually my buddy owns Strictly Modified and they specialize in evos/subarus and they tune cars as well. I've seen some nicely tuned cars from them.

I probably will end up going to AMS, just thought I would ask around to see what other people have to say about them. My Evo had Devo stickers on it when I got it and I was wondering what kind of work they do. My car get's 15-16mpg with mixed driving and I'm having a hard time figuring out why. No boost leaks anywhere and the car looks stock to the eye besides the turbo back exhaust I put on.
I have seen some of Adams work. Good and bad. Example i went in a ride in a built 8 they did... Very very fast and a nice car. Then I had them install a boost controller and a flash. And they did not mount the boost controller anywhere just left it hanging, but I took care of that myself later. I was honestly disappointed with the tune. Only did three pulls on the highway thats it.
Shortly after I got word of a local tuner right in my area from a few other EVO guys. We did about 9 or 10 pulls on the highway. He explained to me what he was doing and what not. Car felt like a beast after his tune and I get better gas mileage with the new tune... (and boost her way more often) Want more details PM me and i will give you his info.
On the other hand, I want to go to AMS to see what my car puts down, when I reach my mod goals.

My wife bought me a tune from Adam for Christmas. We will see how it goes, just waiting for my DP and TP to come in.
I heard alot of people say good things about Devo and some say bad things. But the same thing happened when I asked about other places.

So all the local guys that have Kuniiizzzeee Dial-IN Tuning, is not as good because he doesn't have a shop and charges about 70% less then AMS. Also didn't Adam from Devo use to work for AMS back in the day and tune their cars (or something like that)? I didn't post this reply to sound like a d!ck, but just didn't agree with the money to quality statement.
So you are saying that if it's expensive, it must be good

If you'll take the time to read what I've written you'd notice I said more often than not thats the case, not always.
As I've said, I've seen the options locally, seen the results and I'd stick with a professional tuner that knows what they are doing. Sure there are cheaper options, but there are also options where people do this for a living. Most the time those professionals have seen thousands of configurations, are much better at detecting any kind of problems, know a lot more about tuning and tuning safely. Paying to get a decent tune is a lot cheaper than paying to fix a tuners screwup.

. AMS is top dog, and they charge like it too. Nothing wrong with that, but some of us don't always have to have the best of the best. I would rather have someone tune my car for less and have a little less power than have every last drop squeezed out. I'll sacrifice reliability for power anyday if I can't afford both
If you're willing to sacrifice reliability for power then you may be in luck.
Tune out knock filtering above 6K rpms, jack up timing on the top end make your high and low octane fuel and timing maps identical avoiding protection features the stock ecu contains and you're all set.
oops, I hope those aren't trade secrets for a 'solid' tune.
