get a lawyer meng. Thats a doozy that you got your hands on. Who knows how the judge might react to you. I'm thinking he might give you courtsupervision for a year or maybe less.

Just get a lawyer, you dont want that ticket to be you record because your insurance just might be a little bit more.

good luck and try not to lose any sleep over this. Go seek professional advice.

To hit over 100mph is easy in Evo lol!,

Yes i would get a lawyer.

I got almost 30 over and got a lawyer, my record was clean just as yours, a couple tickets in the past, if you PM me i can give you a phone number when i get home from work. I did call few others and the price was over $500+ instead of $120 + to court $60 or 80. Im pretty sure you will go to addison court which is not verry nice there well let me know if you need a phone # and name.

I've had a 42 over. Get a lawyer, you are dead meat without him.

You are going to a serious court for a serious offense, it's called felony speeding (40 and over the posted limit) and you will be at a stand that people who are in gangs and commit theft also stand at.

Here's the good news...if you come with a good lawyer, the state will most likely just give you a year supervision and a $200 fine if your record is fairly clean and you are on no suervision currently. It's nice to be the guy who is there for speeding, in a court room where gangbangers are at as well, who will most likely be gong to prison.

Also, if your lawyer is cheap, it means he has no pull or skill. It should cost at least $500 for a GOOD lawyer to get you out of a mess like this. My instance cost me $750 but I didn't care...I left with my license and after a year a clean record. Sweet.

Best of luck.

So I called Hamflex's attorney and he was real cool. I really have nothing to worry about according to him, he knows the judge and went to school w/ him or something crazy like that. It's basically going to cost me $500 for a lawyer and what ever fine I get from the judge. He said I will most likely get 6-12 months supervision and maybe traffic school. Overall it should cost $1000, but to me it's better than losing my license. I have turned my boost down to 14psi wastegate pressure to help in slowing down the car Let's hope the judge and attorney are good buds

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU PAY FOR A LAWYER

It may be may be different in Chicago but I've lived in 4 states and this has worked in all of them.

I used to go into court and ask to talk to the prosecuters. Ask them if they will "amend" the ticket. A majority of the time, a speeding ticket will amend to a non-moving violation and stays off your record. Normally they will double the fine and add the court cost. It is not necessary to use a lawyer for this, although I have heard of some courts requiring you to have a lawyer.

The biggest ticket I've had was a 104 in a 70. This was about 5 hours west of where I live. I was able to do all this over the phone. Actually I believe this town put me on diversion but it works the same way. I just paid double the fine plus court cost.

If I was you I would go to your first court date and talk to the prosecutor yourself. If they will work with you, then great, you saved money. If they won't do anything for you, no harm, just ask them to give you a continuance, new court date, and then use a lawyer.

If you not sure what to expect going yourself, I would call a random lawyer, or 2, and ask them what they can do for you. They should be able to tell you if they can get it taken off completly, like to a non-mov v. or that it would get dropped to a lesser charge. What ever they could do for you, is what you should be able to get from the prosecutors yourself. Be cautious though, some lawyers will make you think you have to use them. If you call 4 and they all tell you this then it's probably true, but if 1 of 4 tells you that, then they are just trying to get your money.

I havn't use a lawyer in years and have saved a lot of money.

Hope that helps. Good luck.

p.s.

I gave this advice to a guy in Colorado and this was his post and this was for a reckless driving ticket:

"I talked to a lawyer and they said I should go in for the initial hearing then see what the courts are willing to do for me. If i'm not satisfied with what the courts offer, call the lawyer back.

I think that whats I'm going to do for now."
