I bought my evo from Max Madson<ack>. I wish I knew before hand. At the time the sales men were suporting mods. I take it in for service and talk to the service manager nd he says that a drop in filter is the only thing they won't void a warranty on.

Can you take your mitsu to any service department or are you binded to the dealership you bought from?

You can take it anywhere, including non-Mitsu entities. BUT, you have very little chance of warranty coverage at non-Mitsu shops. I can't say for sure, but I wouldn't be suprised if Mitsu has a "master" data base for all service work done at any Mitsu dealership. Of course they will say it's for better customer service, but they won't hesistate to check this for previous denials either, if it exists.

For a little more info about Madsen-

I was SHOWN an EVO with a more or less blown tranny/clutch because the guy supposedly did rev-limiter clutch drops. They said Mitsu bought this car back and the customer got a new one (don't know what price). They bragged about this to me. Then I was denied a clutch when my car had less than 10K miles on it. I did not abuse the car. In fact in 25+ years of driving, I have NEVER needed a clutch. I have/had 2 high performance cars too, a 2000 Honda S2000 (sold) and still have a 2002 BMW 330ci.

The EVO clutch is under/poorly designed and Mitsu sucks! The rest of the car is great though.
