RX-8 crash

I live over in the west burbs of chicago <sw burbs if you want to be picky> and I'm on my way home from snowboarding on sunday night when this happens. I'm about to go over I-355 and there's about 4 lights in front of me. I look to my right and see a brand new RX-8 revving hard. I'm tired so I don't even pay attention to it and when the light turns he floors it. He didn't go anywhere and spun for a couple of seconds and I just continued on my merry way. Next light he does the same thing and I decided to let him know his place in the world. He instantly fell behind 3-4 car lenghts. Next light same thing but now i'm 4 cars ahead of him. Last light and i'm gone all the way to 70 with the RX-8 falling fast. Now this is where it gets interesting.

The speed limit is 50 where I was at and I slowed down because the area is a cop dream for catching a speeder. Here comes the RX-8. Were traveling along side one another for a lil bit and he decides to punch it. <If you want to call the snail like pick up that it had punching it> He's about 50 feet in front of me and tries a quick lane change. The back end goes squirrly and he goes sideways, the cuts it back and goes side ways again. Then the complete loss of control hits and goes right off the side of the road into a ditch and smacks into a tree but not hard. His buddy was laughing at him and he was punching his steering wheel in anger. I just laughed, shook my head, and went home.
Poor RWD car your owner hardly knew ye.

Well the weather wasn't even bad. When he started to spin out I was waiting to take evasive action but he just ended up going off the road. It is sad that it happened to a nice car and a brand new one to boot. Even though i do find it funny when people try to be hard asses and end up screwing themselves over.

Reminds me of this silver supra that lived around me that always wanted to race when I first got my evo. He was following me around one day, acting like a jerk, weaving in and out of traffic and cutting me off. So I got infront of him took off and made a hard right turn. I was able to make the turn even though it had just rained. He did not and knocked his rear axel loose, crushing the curb in the process, and punted a fire hydrant about 25 feet. Drove by 10 minutes later and the cops were all over him. thats what you get for giving a 17 yr old a supra and who thinks he's invincible and has a chip on his sholder.

Geez man it would seem your surrounded by idiots with drivers licenses! haha to bad about those cars, but hey people have to learn the hard way sometimes that they aren't invincible and they aren't bad asses.. tsk tsk about the RX-8 I guess if he hadn't crashed I'm sure he would have said later after you spanked him that he was babying it or some crap.

most likely. That or been something like "Oh you were racing me? I wasn't even trying."

Sure the guy was being a dick, and his car got ****ed, but what about helping people out. It couldnt get any worse for him, his crashed his new car, and his pride was shot to hell. What if it was you that spun into a tree, wouldnt you want someone to stop and give you assistance to get your car separated from the tree. People always complain about how ****ty other people are, but dont ever check themselves. I like how you "decided to let him know his place in the world." An RX-8 is no **** box grocery getter. If you felt that it was no competition then why even bother. You even said it your self that you were tired. His cockyness got him ****ed up, but you provoked him. I will be the first to admit that i mess around on the street with people, but why has it become such a rivalry between everyone on the street? Its all fun until someone looses an eye.

I'm sure someone else will preach about not street racing. A couple of nights ago, I pull up next to some guy and his little boy in a Ferrari 360 and my passengers are telling me, "Race! Race!". I'm glad I didn't try to race, I'd feel terrible if anything happened to either car or the people. Seriously people, you should put aside the "I'm going to put you in your place" attitude before getting behind the wheel. 3000lbs at 60mph is going to hurt no matter what....

ya it would hurt not matter what, unless your driving a tank, ahahaha.

but seriously dude, your right. Good thing you didnt race, and have that on your conscious if something happened to the dad or little boy, that would be horrible!

How exactly did he provoke the RX-8? Read the story again.

I provoked him? If anything he provoked me. He was the one revving his engine and spinning his tires comming off a street light. I didn't even notice him until he started doing that anyways. I was over and done with when he decided to pull off a 50 mph roll. I didn't provoke him to do that. I also didn't provoke him to try and make a quick lane change.

I didn't do anything to this guy asking him to have the last word. he also didn't up root a tree or anything just brushed up against it. The worst thing he had to go through was getting his car out of a snow filled ditch. Now if I got the Lancer Evolution tow truck edition i would have gladly helped him out but I don't think its available here in America.

He shot himself in the foot and has to get himself out of his own mess.

I respect alot of people and cars on the street but when someone starts to run they're mouth about my car or starts asking for trouble i'm not one to back down.
