Question Difficulty finding 17x8-17x9 wheels

I am having difficulty finding 17x8 - 17x9 wheels that clear the brakes on the Evo8. I don't want 18 inch wheels.

www.wheelmax.com has alot of wheels I like, but everything is 17x7. I am trying to keep the wheel/tire package price to around $1k or so. I refuse to pay big bucks for expensive wheels because I have waaaay too many other hobbies to fund.

Any ideas? Yes, I looked at the threads here, but alot of those are too pricey or fancy for me.

I think if you look closely at wheelmax, they have rims that will say "also available in 17x8" or something like that. I also noticed that everything they list on their price lists is 17x7.

Good luck finding a package that cheap, even inexpensive tires will probably run about $100 each, leaving only about $150 for rims, which is awfully cheap for the sizes you're talking about.

Enkei Tarmac rims...

if you don't wanna drop the dough the Enkeis are a good wheel for the price...

if you want 17's why don't you just keep the stockers...?

Mille Miglias are incredibly heavy... over 28#s for their 17" ones.

Lightsped if you get a 1000 K wheel/tire setup you probably will hurt performance instead of increase it. Don't skimp on cheap tires for the EVO. If you are tight on cash just change the wheels to lighter weight wheel and use the factory tires.

I looked around and was unable to find pics of the Enkei Tarmac wheel. Is the Tarmac the wheel with the 10 or 12 spokes? How much do they cost in a 17x8 or 17x9 size?

Enkei Sport ES Tarmac has 10 spoke and comes in 17 inch sizes. You might be confusing it with the Racing WTE II which looks close to it. The ES Tarmac's are very reasonably priced at around $250 a wheel depending on size but they only come in white color. The new forged WRC Tarmac EVO and WRC Tarmac EVO are 5 spoke rims in 17 and 18 inch sizes. Forged WRC only 17 inch.

2cool : Once we finish loading all the parts and graphics onto our parts catagories, prices will follow. You can always email me for prices on anything. Also heading to Japan next month for 2 weeks to visit our tuners and also attend a HKS tuning school for their F-Con computers. Should be fun

I like that Enkei. I wish it came in a other finish besides white. Too difficult to keep clean..... I do like the design though. Reminds me of the Prodrive P1/Rota Tarmac.

I found a couple 5ziegen wheels that I like. Are the 17x8 and 17x9 sizes coming with the correct offset for the Evo? Any rubbing with 17x9?
