SST Questions

I have an New Zealand SST Evo X.
I have had it for a few months now and I am very impressed.
I had an Evo ix before the X. If you have any questions regarding the X SST from a driving or owners point of view then let me know and I will try to answer them.
Here is a link to the spec's of my car.
http://www.mitsubishi-motors.co.nz/v...tion/specs.asp.
P.S It is one of only nine SST's in the country-5 red, 3 Tarmac, 2 Blue.

Congrats mate.
I'd like to ask which gear does it start out in if you're driving normally from a stop?
Is the shifting smooth in normal driving?
Have you done any mods yet?
Do you hear any gearbox whine at highway cruising speeds?
Thanks and enjoy that beast.

I'm curious if the SST still gives you a kick in the butt while punching the gas

It selects 1st from a normal stop. If you roll through a give way say at 10 KPh it will select 2nd. but from stationary all ways 1st. It seems to have no discerning drive train whine. Hope this helps.

yes it does. It can drop 1 or even 2 gears before I could even make the gear stick in the ix. Very good for passing.

Good, so the gear selection and change speed is much like the CVT. Hardly noticable and you can just tap down to whatever gear you want and it switches almost simultaniously. BTW im jealous just by the fact that you guys got electric blue Evos.

Are you going to mod the car in any way? I noticed that onthe option list it does not specify leather seats only cloth, do you have any pictures of the interior? Actually exterior as well as we do not get the EB Evo's here.

Damn, they get Tarmac Black as well, I like the pure black!

Have you encountered problems with the TC SST Short shifting and overheating , the few articles i have read here in Australia mentioned the earlier cars had this problem ?

I believe the delay in releasing The TC SST in US, CANADA ,BRITAIN AND AUSTRALIA was caused by those malfunctions .

Cheers
Michael
