So I wonder if I could buy the SSP lifetime filter, SSP Pro-Gold fluid, take car to dealershat and have them do the work for me?

I know my dealer charges 350 for SST service but the SSP fluid will run me 400 alone not to mention the filter for another 100. So 500 in materials then probably another 100-150 at the dealer.

I dunno what to do now...

I am 100% sure there is a qualified shop in California besides the dealer. Any ASE certified mechanic would have no issue doing the trans service. The dealer is ANOTHER story. Jeremy can probably give you a list of qualified shops in California.

I wouldn't suggest having non oem parts/fluids installed by the dealership for fear of voiding your factory warranty. And while SOME dealerships might be qualified to do a fluid and filter change on your SST....MOST ARE NOT!! Trust me.....just because they sold you the car does NOT mean they have ANY clue what's going on with the SST.

Follow the link below to our interactive dealer page to see what SSP dealers are closest to your area. If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to call me directly.

Jeremy,

Nothing against your choice of dealers, but Pann Auto in San Diego county is probably one of the most overpriced bull**** dealers of any car parts I have ever been to in my life.

Mediocre service, poor communication, and a variety of other problems with that shop over all. I don't personally know that many guys in San Diego at all that frequent them.

I'm sorry that you've had a bad experience with that shop. Are they the only dealer in you're area that sells SSP parts?
