Light throttle, clutches opening
I was hoping someone might have some insight into this phenomenon. Today as I was lightly accelerating with about 15 - 20% throttle, and as I shift from 2nd to 3rd, just as third engages the clutches open up and the engine revs. The car was at normal operating temperature. This does not happen often, but it is not the first time it has happened. Its kinda cold here, about -12 C, and it seems to happen mostly in cooler temperatures.
I was thinking that I had exceeded the torque limit for that little throttle. I can hear the car use the lower bound timing in between shifts and was thinking that maybe it is building unnecessary boost at this light throttle from the much retarded ignition timing in that area of the lower bound map. I'm hoping to understand the purpose of the lower bound timing in the indicated area. Why is it so much lower than the timing that would be used in the high octane map? This is from one of the GST base maps, but the factory rom is even more retarded.
Has anyone had a similar issue?

lol. I was wondering what kinda of good stuff was going on behind the scene in those maps.
Ill copy over some maps that are different and give it a try. Thanks Bryan!
