Anyone has this knocking noise? It only happens when idle (the video is not of my car). I was wondering if that's normal. I heard that it was on the 2010 MR/SE. What about 2011?

Yes, my car sounds exactly like when I start her up (especially in the am).

My SE sounds just like this. Glad to see I'm not the only one.

 

Get a friend to sit in the car and change from Park, to Neutral then Finally to Drive with his/her foot on the brake. Once in Drive the noise should be noticeably more quiet.

Report back to me with your findings and I'll tell you what the noise is and why.

 

i dont think its anything to worry about OP, my RS made a knocking noise when it has spun rod bearings and it sounded much different from this. in your case it sounds like something else. a part is loose?? iuno but whatever it is im sure its no big problem.

I had a feeling there would be a thread about this noise....and the video captures it perfectly. I'm glad others noticed it too and I'm not alone.

So it's been confirmed this is just a regular sound from the SST clutch packs, correct?
