I must be missing something....I did a search through 2005SolorRules.pdf for {'STU', 'Street Touring Ultra', 'Ultra'} and did not find any rules specific to STU. I can find the STS rules starting on page 69 (section 14) and STX on page 78 (section 14.11), but no STU. The next section is Street Prepared on page 79.

Am I smoke the bad weed or did the SCCA forget a couple of pages?

STU follows the same rules as STX and street touring.

From Doug Gill...

Hi, Keith,

No, there's no reason. It's an oversight mostly from the time crunch to get the Rules approved, updated, corrected, and published before the first of the year. I think there'll be a lot of things that will have to be cleared up with tech bulletins (Prepared has several items). The good news is I've been told that corrections may be able to be made to the on-line version. (Keep your fingers crossed!)

Happy Holidays!

- Doug

It's nice to know that we aren't nuts about the missing STU section.

Note that events that require you to have a rule book, will require you to actually have a print version of the book. National Tour, National Championships, and some Divisional events.

How do you order the book? Can I get it through my friendly neighborhood book monger?

From the SCCA's website:

If you would like a copy of the printed Solo Rulebook, contact SCCA Merchandise via e-mail or call at (800) 770-2055.
Personally, I got my 2004 rule book at a local regional SCCA event -- they were selling them at the registration table.

It's also possible that your local region makes just a few dollars off the books, so may as well help out your local region.

I like the idea of it being online. For those that pay membership fees, but not go events that require them, it stinks to pay the $15 on top of all the other costs. IMO.

In any event, it won't save me anything, I'll still have to buy one.
