Are we even sure someone named ovenmit can own an EVO?Back on topic, for equal money invested, you will be hard pressed to beat the EVO. I would look at either an 04 or new RS. The Z06 is a great car, but I agree with the person that commented that they are too big. It felt very large on a tight circuit.

I agree that it would be more fun beating a big V8 or V10 with the evo than vice versa.

I have a friend that has been tracking his MR in HPDE class 2 and this past weekend there were 3 Z06s in his class and a Carrera S and they all pointed him by and none of them ever caught up with him. The last thing I would want to do is buy a dedicated 2 door coupe and still be beat by the 4 cylinder 4 door evo.
I plan on doing bolt-ons, exhaust, intake, boost controller, 272s, exede, but focusing primarily on the suspsension. I want to have something that is very dependable while still producing consistent competitive track times.

It's all in the driver not the car. The Z06/Viper will annihilate a EVO on the track. Go look at posted times for ButtonWillow and VIR the EVO isn't in the same league as those cars. It will hold it's own with or beat all the others.

Most of you will probably shoot this idea down, but if there is a will there is a way.
I think that I will pass on the Atom. It is undoubtably a sweet car though.
I think that I will probably do an evo RS with some nice coilovers, a roll cage and some engine mods. I really want to keep it safe and reliable.

imo, the Evo needs better brakes than OEM to have more fun at the track, the car is alittle too heavy, i have oem brakes with race pads, coming down the last turn at searspoint can be hairy...

OH COME ON... Noble M12 GTO-3R.. seriously. My friend's dad has one, it goes 0-60 in 3.3 sec or something, and owns the track.. I watched a video on it, and it beat an evo around this track by like 2.5 sec. Thats a HUGE difference. It isn't to terribly expensive either. I have a post where it shows pictures of it, you would have to search. You can find the video on google of the Noble M12 GTO-3R.
