Toyota Echo runs down Evo on the track
One of the things I will do occasionally during track days is do half a lap or more at a considerably reduced speed to let the tires or brakes come back -- that or to just bring the temps down.
if you read the best motoring thread, the echo dude says "The White Evo is a cool guy and we talked after the run. We had a good 6 or 7 lap battle... Really cool guy and awesome driver with alittle over 50 track days under his belt..."
also, the echo has a TON of engine and suspension work done to it, not to mention it weighs less than 2000 lbs without the driver.
but with all of that said, i agree the video proves nothing...you can't compare cars based on an HPDE.
Well, all you see is the cars in the twisties. If the Echo is on race rubber & the Evo on Advans, the Echo has an advantage. The Echo does not lean much either which suggests that the suspension is far from stock The cars disappear from view for a long time and when they reappear the Echo is in front. Maybe the Evo slipped off or spun?
LOL! I went to the dining hall after watching that video and all of a sudden all these Echos appear. There was a black on parked outside the window i was sitting at. @.@ creeepy
