Great Vid again! Wish my fix was that easy, but the gears didn't help, so the blend door is to blame.

Man, you sure like weight savings.

Luckily, I didn't have to go through all that and just had to do the gears. Was really easy to do.

For those of you on the cheap (a friend of mines Lancer) that only have the bent cable issue, take all the gears off and clean/re-grease them as shown in the video. For the stock cable, straighten out where it bent. Then with a razor knife and wire strippers strip off 2.5" of the black sheathing. Now grab the soldering iron and fluxed solder, solder the exposed area lighty. Glide the soldering iron from one end to another, only leaving a bit of solder on the cable. Your main goal is to weep the solder into the cable rather than have it on the outside. So far this has lasted a full year on his car. Results may vary but it sure can't hurt to try.
